With a jointed mouthpiece and long shanks, a tom thumb bit is a leverage bit that applies pressure to the poll, bars, tongue, and roof of a horse's mouth. This is a great bit - my Arabian had no problem adjusting to it - I would recommend it to come in a 4.5” Arabs have a smaller mouth. It’s ok but I would really like a 4.5”

I'm not a fan of tom thumb bits at all. But my trainer specifically requested one as a training bit for my horse. He said I chose a very nice one. The bit seems high quality, made well. The copper rollers rotate nicely. Fits my large quarter horse just fine.

Bit is a nice weight with a glossy chrome finish. My horse responded to it and seemed to be comfortable with the weight of it. It arrived in excellent condition and he loves the copper rollers and it keeps his mouth moist and gives him a nice distraction! It is worth the money i have bought cheaper bits in the past that soon have pitting and rust, this is a good quality bit for the money.
