Nice bit for my foundation bred Quarter Horse gelding who has a wide muzzle often found with the old bloodlines.Good brakes without being a harsh bit. My gelding doesn't work the bit in his mouth either like he does with a broken mouthpiece. He seems more content. The bit seems well made and good quality.

It's tough to find western bits in 5 5". My horse is a 1600lb warmblood and while the mouth piece is wide enough, I had to bend the top pieces hat connect to the headstall outward because it was too tight. It's ok, but I am still not convinced this is comfortable enough for her. I may go back to a snaffle.

My horse came with a snaffle bit and was horrible to control. He threw his head all the time and chewed on the bit constantly. I decided to try a simple curb, (past experience told me to). This one is perfect! The minute I put it in his mouth, he became a different horse. Now he is relaxed and content with a bit in his mouth and a joy to ride. I know every horse and situation is different, but it's working great for us.As an added note, I have a Haflinger with a very wide mouth and muzzle and this 5 1/2 inch fits him perfectly! The bit itself is clean, pretty, simple and sturdy. I recommend and would buy again myself.

Got this for my mule mare. It is a good fit for her and seems to be decent quality. Disappointed that it is made in China
