These are very good waterproof & insulated steel toe low rise work sneakers. They have speed laces towards the top of the shoe, not the entire length. The laces are a bit long, so we shortened them up, LOL, even double knotted they were very generously long. Not a fault, this may work for some. These were ordered in size 12 regular width, and were pretty much not in need of break in time, they were put on & worn all day with no discomfort at all. In fact they are super comfortable heel to toe, and have a nice ample size box toe which is roomy. Wore these out in freezing & sub-freezing weather, snow, ice & rain and they are warm, dry and pretty sure-footed, but of course ice is dangerous and you must move with caution or put on cleats, this would go for most footwear IMO. Not a fault at all, this is upstate NY and we get some very long lasting thick & treacherous ice.Liking these very much and enjoy wearing them due to comfort and great looks, warm & dry! The reflectors that are stitched on the exterior of these are useful and a good safety feature to have, btw. Another good feature the reflectors, to have along with the steel toes!Recommended!

These shoes are pretty good! They are a little pricier than I would’ve expected for the quality. The shoe material on the outside does feel synthetic. So I’m not sure how long that will last. But they are very comfortable. The sides of them are a little bulky, but that is to be expected for a work shoe. And the biggest thing for me when it comes to footwear is how good the tread is. This did not disappoint. It is extremely grippy and nonslip, and it has an aggressive tread for working outdoors as well.

I have mixed feelings about these shoes. When I read the description, these seemed like the perfect shoes. On the positive side, they do look very nice and sturdy. They are also waterproof, so that his feet don't get soaked at his job. But they do run small. My teenaged son wears a 13 wide in his other shoes and is used to steel toes, but his toes are bothered on the end and the side of his toes on one foot because they run small. Also, he has to have slip-resistent shoes, and though they say they are, he was slipping around and was told he had to have different shoes. If you would order a larger size and it wasn't mandatory that you not slip, these would be wonderful shoes. Unfortunately, they did not work out for him.

Having long experience with protective work related footwear, I kept reasonable expectations for a work shoe at this price point. The Xyldra waterproof steel toe boots exceed those expectations.Upon initial examination and first wear, I observed that they are better looking than a typical work boot.The black and brown version is particularly nice and can transition to wear beyond work sites. The appearance is somewhat more akin to an athletic or hiking boot.More importantly, the boots feel stable with good arch support and have a lightweight feel which is a plus for all-day comfort. The rubber sole provides good traction on a range of poor surfaces.In the wide version, the boot is roomy enough for those thick wool socks appropriate for cold weather.The composite steel toe and puncture resistant soles provide for safe wear. The overall construction reflects quality and I could not identify any mismatched seams or sewing issues. The boot is designed for a level of water resistance and I expect this will be delivered.Unlike other boots, I was not eager to take them off for relief after a few hours. Reviews may be wide ranging, as no two wearers’ feet will be identical. This is particularly true when judging fit size.I did find these boots to be true to size (EU 47W/13W} and suit my purpose to allow a heavier sock.They appear to be a good buy in comparison to more expensive brands.

NOTE: I ordered a half size larger and wide — that turned out to be a wise choiceThis is really a good work shoe! I was surprised at the quality. I tested and evaluated the black/black, and the colors are (well, black, so yeah, that is nice) as expected. The construction is solid. These are rugged and durable — BUT they are a bit stiff (as in very stiff).if you need foot protection and you don't mind a stiff shoe, this is great for harsh conditions and industrial settings. They do not slip and they really are highly puncture proof. These work best with thick socks, but I suppose you could wear any socks (but thicker is absolutely better — and if you wear super-thick wool socks, add a full extra size and also a wide toe box — you will be very happy with that.These are remarkably stylish considering they are a steel toe work boot. They almost seem like casual shoes you could wear every day. Keep in mind, walking in stiff shoes *will* feel uncomfortable at first, but that is just the nature of shoes and boots that are built for extreme protection rather than leisure. ALSO, they ARE waterproof. This is a must in muddy, oily, and wet environments. They don't really look like they should do all of these things but that they do is a testament to modern fashion: how a rugged work shoe/boot can pass as a casual shoe for everyday use.Just keep in mind, no matter how good these look, you are wearing them for foot protection, not comfort. Until you break them in, they will be stiff (but they will keep your feet dry and safe).
