This fixed the broken valve. The job is not pleasant and the instructions are not great. The instructions seemed to apply to a model that was different from mine, but I got the jist of what they were trying to convey. A little trial and error with the position and fitting of the shaft seal was the main challenge. The parts fit properly and the repair seems to be working.

After installing this kit I had a leak letting water seep out from the bowl. I went to a local rv dealer and purchased a Thetford kit of the same thing. The parts looked exactly the same. The seal was green in color but appeared to be like the one in this kit. When I removed the seat under the seal to take out the waste ball I noticed that there were 3 small round notches on the inside of the rim and I had previously installed that seat where a notch was exactly on one side of the waste ball. When I reinstalled that seat, I put two notches close to one end of the waste ball and the third notch on the other end. I did use the new green seal, but used the waste ball that came with this kit. I had no leaks. I believe a notch on the weakest part of the seal could let water seep through. The waste ball in both the Thetford kit and this kit looked the same and were indeed slightly smaller than the old waste ball. Anyway, I hope my experience is helpful to someone.

The valve and seal are OK to for what they do however the Toilet (Thetford) is worthless! We have a new motorhome (2022, 1950 mi.) and when we got it the seal was leaking and would not hold water very long, took it to General RV for warranty and they said they could not see leak but said they changed seal anyway. Took it on long trip and within a week was leaking again. looked on internet and discovered that in order to "change seal" toilet would have to be removed and taken apart upside down in order to replace valve and seal. General definitely did not have time to do this so they did not do this! Got seal kit and replaced it-took about two hours! after about a month leak developed again and I got another kit to replace seal but when I took the toilet apart the plastic flange piece was broken and I could not make the flush spring work. Thetford has a cheap piece of plastic holding the back section of the heavy duty spring and pulling the flush lever off twice weakened it to the point it would not hold! Scraped the toilet and brought a Dometic toilet!

For a non-OEM product, this went in just as easily, and seems to be working just as well. As far as ease of installation, that has a lot to do with your ability (not the product). If you are looking to install this part, check out the on line videos about it- helps a lot.

Item was easy to install but failed to fix problem which is to prevent the toilet draining dry, allowing fumes from the waste tank to escape into the R.V. I attempted the installation twice though each time, water continued to leak by the seal. The seal kit is sold by "Wehope" and I take that as "cross your fingers this works" which it did not. So the kit was returned for refund. The situation was resolve with the purchase/installation of a new Thetford base unit and seal kit combo. During the assembly of the new base unit/seal kit, I found the seal kit was different than the "Wehope" brand kit. The "Wehope" rubber seal was all black whereas the Thetford brand was black and dark green.

Old Style with small shaft and single tab to operate ball valve. Fails after 2 years but this is the only one we can get until more of the newer stronger style are on the market which are only being used in the new toilets at present.

I was skeptical after reading all the negative revues but the ball appears to be equal to the OEM. Peoples biggest complaint was it is stiff and hard to operate. I wonder if they they installed a second U-cup seal, the instructions state to install the U-cup seal onto key tab side. The opposite side doesn't need one, but the kit includes two rather than just the one it needs. The instructions have you dismantling more than you need to, if as on mine you could get to the seal retainer screw without that.
