I've purchased this tail pipe twice now. The first time was less than four years ago. The tail pipe (at the weld) rusted and fell off at some point, but don't know when since I only noticed it missing recently. The remaining section allowed the exhaust to vent into the rear bumper cover, which melted.Let's hope the second one lasts longer.

Fit my 2011 v6 pathfinder just fine. Take the spare wheel off first and it goes much easier. All I needed was a 2.5" clamp to complete the job.

After pulling my old system I installed this kit and everything worked fine but the resonator. For whatever reason it was bent a few degrees sharper than the OEM exhaust which caused it to touch the under body of the car and make a horrendous rattle. I had to uninstall and bend it to a serviceable degree to eliminate the rattle. Other than that it sounds fine and installed easily.

This was an exact fit replacement for the original on a 2008 Pathfinder V6. It had about 130,000 miles on it. The rest of the exhaust system pipes were solid, but the rear tailpipe this replaces was rusted through in several spots and had started to rattle really bad when you were stopped in traffic. There were no instructions in the box, and there was no clamp included with mine, so unless you're planning on welding it, you'll need a 2 1/2" exhaust clamp. I don't know if it was just missing from my box, or if it's just not included. It's best to remove the spare tire. Removal of the old pipe and install of the new tailpipe require the pipe to be turned sideways to slide over the narrow opening above the rear end suspension, so you need the spare tire out of the way in order to get the right angle to slide the tailpipe in and out easily. The pipe connects exactly where the old one did, so it's a male pipe coming out of the muffler, that the female end of this pipe will slide onto. The hardest part of the install was getting the female end of the old pipe cut off so the new pipe could slide on the original exhaust. It's sort of in an awkward position, so a small cutting tool works best to get the old pipe cut loose. For exhaust work on my other trucks, I usually use exhaust cutting chain pliers, a grinder and cut off wheel, or a reciprocating saw, I couldn't get any of those in the right position for this cut. I found that my old Dremel rotary tool with one of the fiber reinforced cutoff discs worked the best. It was easy to control the cut so I didn't cut too deep. I cut the old clamp, pried it away from the pipe, then made about a three inch long cut where the old pipes were connected, careful to only cut through the outer pipe, leaving the inner male pipe intact for the new tailpipe to slide onto. The factory clamp on mine was spot welded on the top passenger side to the outer pipe, so you may not be able to get the old clamp off completely. Luckily that weld didn't extend through to the inner pipe. Once I'd made the cut in the outer pipe, I pried it loose with a flat head screwdriver. The old tailpipe came loose easily leaving the factory male pipe that this new pipe slides over. If you have a Dremel or other small cutting tool to get the old female pipe cut off the factory male connection, then this will be a fairly easy project for you. You may want to inspect the rest of the exhaust while you're at it. I had several heatshield straps that were broke up front. The rattling of the old rusted tailpipe had been masking the rattling those heatshields up front were doing, so I replaced all the heatshield straps with stainless steel hose clamps.
