Love this thing. Only gave it a four star because the heating element is pretty slow. Quicker to boil water and pour it in then turn the heater on. Cleans grease of bolts and small car parts easy. In hindsight I should have gotten a much bigger one. the heater being slow is my only gripe with it!Update: used it last week to clean jewelry and it worked fine. Auto timer shut off and the entire unit stopped working. Worked awesome until it broke.

3L model . Found the reason some people complain about smoke, well part of the reason. I thought the bottom panel looked like it had clear plastic on it like the lid has blue plastic. I tried to peel it off, but I couldn't because there wasn't any plastic on it. I thought maybe, I just wasn't able to peel the plastic. Being the OCD Mr fix-it man that I am, I decided to void warranty and remover the bottom panel, and heat it with a heat gun, to maybe help remove the plastic. As I said earlier, there ended up not being any plastic, BUT the heat gun revealed some spots on the metal. As you see the spots in the pic, those spots didn't show up until they were heated by my heat gun. My best guess is it is some sort of oil residue from the machinery cutting the holes in the panel, like cutting oil machinist use. It could possibly be something else from the parts above, that maybe dripped something on the bottom during manufacturing. It is not from use, because I took it apart before I ever used it to see why people said it was smoking. Now the good news, it didn't smoke at all. I'm not sure if it was because I already burned the mystery stains off or some other reason. I did notice that the instructions warned more than once to unplug when done, and to also make sure the outlet used to plug it into, has ground. For those not sure how to do that, you can buy an outlet checker here on Amazon. An outlet checker simply plugs in like everything that plugs into an outlet, and let's you know if hot, neutral, and ground are wired correctly. It's a good idea to check all your outlets with such a device. I suspect some of the bad reviews may be the result of using bad outlets. For those wondering about minimum water level, the manual says simply, be sure there is enough water to completely cover whatever you're cleaning, and no more water than the maximum line in pan. It also warns about using no water, which I also suspect some of the bad reviews may be because of that. All that said, it actually works great! Wish it came with the ability to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I ended up printing a conversion chart. I got this for my partials dentures mainly. Before this, I bought the highest rated crappy plastic magnsonic brand, it was horrible. I don't know how it has so many sales and good ratings. It literally melted the epoxy holding the transducer to the pan, then fell down and melted the plastic housing. So if you're looking at that one, or this one, spend a few more bucks and get this one. This Vevor 3L is hands down the best for the money . Last but not least, just my opinion, use distilled water, it has zero particles , just pure water. Don't use tap, bottled purified/drinking water

Cant stress this enough. Don't get excited to use it once you get it. OPEN THE CASE AND VERIFY THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. Make use that it is safe. Case grounded, HOT IS SWITCHED (don't laugh, I've seen CN products like this where the neutral is the switched leg. NOT GOOD). Once that's done you can start to work with it. Take that hose that came with it and toss it. Go get 1/2" tubing from the store and cut what you need. Also the plumbing add on's to get it how you want it (hose barb...90's what ever). Plumbing it is your job. Extra safety note: Since this thing is UL certified. I wouldn't leave it plugged in longer than overnight. If you are going to walk away from it for a long period of time, EMPTY IT AND UN-PLUG IT!Operation. I'm not sure about the temperature probe. I may need to mod it. Example I put in cleaning solution and turned on the heat set to 50c. bout 10 minutes later it said it was 43c. NOPE! Not even close. but, I waited about an hour and when it said it was 53c...it was 53c. So you might not trust that sensor. Get a thermocouple and check it. Or wait an hour and it should be right on. It does pass the aluminum foil test. It has cleaned well. Haven't noticed any hot spots.Other notes: You may need hearing protection. MAY. It bugs me but I am sensitive to higher frequency noise so I put on the muffs and all is good. Also don't forget to DEGAS any new solution or if you pour your working solution in for 10 minutes prior to using for cleaning. If you leave it in there, you don't need to do it again but the "Engrish" instructions recommend to empty it.Other than that, It works, works well and wasn't horribly expensive. I'll keep it.

Update January 30, 2025 Still going strong and works great! No issues at all. Cheers!I have been using this heavily for about 6 months and is working great. Triple Carbs from boat Moto to tools and everything in-between. I even put in the wool polishing pads from orbital polisher and they came out like new. Tip! - Fill unit with water and put everything into GLASS JARS with your cleaning solution and float them on the top of the water. The unit stays clean and the items get just as clean as they would inside the unit. (pulses go right through the glass) Don't use Plastic it doesn't work very well. It is easy to separate items this way and to use different cleaning solutions in each of the different size jars. Experiment a little, OK? You end up saving a ton of money on the cleaning solution as you only use a tiny bit in the jars. Put a plastic trash can under your work bench to drain your unit into after use to keep it dry. My unit looks like new because I have never put anything dirty inside it, only in jars in the water bath. I will be looking to install some sound deadening material to the inside walls to help with the noise issue and will report back on that once completed. So Far so good. Cheers!
