I recall the description said they could do eighty pounds a piece. Half of my tool box lid could not weigh that much. They were installed on box aligned and in no bind. Easier to push up lid with them than without them. Easier to keep them and uninstall them and return them.

This was a great product unfortunately we just couldn't get it to fit our bench seat lid. The way the brackets attached it just didn't work for us.

I ordered these for an access door to a basement. The first time they came they were sent without hardware. No bolts, nuts or hinges. No biggie, I sent them back and got another set.This time it came with the hardware, once installed I found out the gas strut was seized! Even with the weight of the door which is close to 200 LBS it wouldn't move a CM! It is what it is but there won't be a 3rd time haha.

Ordered two sets of the stuts, one set was missing an entire strut and the hardware. Instead of an option to just send me the missing part it's on me to send the one back and wait for another set to come. That's more of my time wasted on poor quality control and I already waited to get this set in the first place.
