I recently purchased the Vantrue N5 Dashcam, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! This dashcam has exceeded all my expectations, and I’m thrilled to share my experience.First and foremost, the video quality is outstanding. Whether it’s day or night, the footage is crystal clear, capturing every detail with precision. The wide-angle lenses ensure that all four directions are covered perfectly, providing complete peace of mind while driving. It’s like having an extra set of eyes on the road, parking lot, or anywhere else I go.The setup was straightforward, and the dashcam works flawlessly. I’ve been using it with a SanDisk memory card, and I haven’t encountered any issues. What really sets the Vantrue N5 apart is its 4-channel recording capability. It captures the front and rear simultaneously, which is incredibly useful for comprehensive coverage. The build quality is solid, and the compact design doesn’t obstruct my view while driving.Overall, the Vantrue N5 is a fantastic investment for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality dashcam. It’s packed with features, performs exceptionally well, and delivers on every promise. I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a top-tier dashcam. Five stars all the way!

I’ve had the Vantrue N5 Dash Cam for a few weeks now, and I have to say—it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my car. Right out of the box, you can tell it’s a high-quality device. The setup was super easy, and the mount holds strong without shaking or coming loose.Picture-Perfect Video QualityThe video quality is insanely good, both during the day and at night. It captures crystal-clear details, including license plates from a distance, which is a huge plus for safety and insurance purposes. Even in low light, the night vision is impressive—no grainy footage or blurry images like I’ve had with other dash cams.Full Coverage – Inside & OutWhat really makes this dash cam stand out is the dual-camera setup. I’ve uploaded four pictures showing both inside and outside views, and you can see just how sharp the footage is. Whether it’s monitoring the road ahead or keeping an eye on passengers inside, the camera captures everything with great clarity and a wide field of view.Reliable Features & Peace of MindThe motion detection and parking mode work flawlessly, giving me peace of mind when my car is parked. It automatically records any movement or impact, so I know I’ll have footage if anything happens. Plus, the loop recording ensures I never have to worry about running out of space. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality dash cam with top-notch video clarity, the Vantrue N5 is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!SincerelyRouzbeh Karimkhani.

This dash cam is pretty incredible. After a few months of testing, I have been quite impressed with the performance and functionality. For the price, it's a great value that offers you full coverage surveillance of the both the front/back of your car, plus the interior. Surveillance while parked was a key feature I was looking for and this dash cam does this very well, with an option to record video every time motion is detected while the car is parked/off. This is made possible by an optional power cable with a built-in circuit breaker that delivers power to the dash cam while ensuring the car battery doesn't drain all the way. The micro-SD card makes it easy to view and save footage from the dash cam to your computer, or you can connect to the dash cam directly using the mobile app via Wi-Fi and view/save whatever recordings you need. The overall installation was quick and seamless, though it may take some time for you to route the cables properly throughout your car if you car about making them hidden. The adhesive that attaches the camera to your windshield has performed really well so far during my use of the dash cam, and both the front and back cameras remain attached to the windshields even when I drive over bumps. Overall, I am very impressed with this dash cam and feel like it is a great value for the cost. If you're looking for a full surveillance dash cam that also does recording while your car is parked and turned off, then I highly recommend trying this model or other models from Vantrue depending on your specific needs.

We recently had a Vantrue dashcam that was broken after a really bad crash that totaled our car. The footage and proof of the other driver’s negligence was so important that I decided to review that camera’s replacement. This review is for the Vantrue Nexus 5, 4-channel dash cam.I would like to start off my review by saying that I really like Vantrue cameras, because they use the Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors and are chock-full of very useful features. In addition, they have a ton of settings so you can customize your dash cam, giving you the exact set up that you want. My video review got blocked, but nobody the "Arrow" could tell me why.If you’re reading this and wondering if you needed dash cam, you do. You absolutely do! You might not need it today or tomorrow, but there will be a point where it is crucially important that you have video of something either happening to you, your vehicle or another vehicle. Video evidence does not think, it does not misremember, it does not lie. Rather, it accurately shows what happened, devoid of emotion or interpretation. That proved huge with our recent total loss. The Vantrue Nexus 5 dash cam is a solid performer. It’s easy to install. The pictures are great and the app is pretty good as well. What I like about the Vantrue camera is that I can basically set it to however I want. You have the choice of whether or not you want the cabin audio recorded, whether or not you want the GPS tracking/mile-per-hour documented or whether you want the G-Force sensor active. The G-force sensor is something that locks portions of the video from being erased or recorded over if the camera detects a certain type of movement/motion of the vehicle. When I set up my camera, I opted to turn off the GPS/speed monitoring and, in my pickup truck, I found the G-Force sensor to lock portions of the video even if I hit a small pothole. The G-force sensor’s sensitivity is adjustable, but on a heavy-duty pickup truck, the ride is just too stiff for that feature to be useful.Using the app, you have instant access to the video files, but I prefer to take the microSD card out and view the video footage from the dash cam on a computer with a large monitor. Doing so really shows how great the video quality is on this camera. Yep, I bet they all look good on a cell phone, but throw it on a 40, 50 or 60 inch, and you’ll be shocked! The Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor has great resolution, clarity and really, really good low-light performance.I did not set my camera up, nor will I, for parking mode, as I park in areas that have commercial grade surveillance cameras at home and at work. If you choose to use parking mode on your camera, Vantrue sells a hardwire kit that uses fuse taps that attach directly on the fuses in your automobile’s fuse box.As an aside, if you do not need the fourth channel, which is the channel for the rear cabin, you should consider the Vantrue Nexus 4 Pro. The Nexus 4 Pro has a slightly better front facing camera, at 4K max resolution with no rear cabin camera, whereas the Nexus 5 has a 1944P max front camera adds the extra channel for the rear cabin camera. Basically, if you drive a minivan or an SUV with three rows, have kids, dogs or other pets or have precious cargo on the back, the Nexus 5 is the ONLY way to go. The slightly better resolution on the front facing camera for the Nexus 4 Pro is essentially negligible. If you do not plan on using parking mode on your dash cam, this is absolutely something that anybody can wire on their own. It is so simple to run the wire on these and the trim tool that they provide works really great. If you’re even a little bit handy, you shouldn’t have a problem with the Vantrue hardwire kit. It uses fuse taps that just piggyback on your automobile’s fuses.

I had a very old version of the Vantrue dashcam in my previous truck. When I bought my new truck, I upgraded to the N5. What a difference! Picture and video quality are incredible and I really get 360 degree coverage.I have to say I was very impressed with the way the unit was packaged in the box. The well engineered use of box space was impressive. The N5 front and back cameras look and feel extremely well made/designed with a quality feel to both units.Installation was easy. Initially, I had issues with the camera not sticking to my front windshield. The company was very responsive to my issues and provided alternate attachments to help. Eventually, I found the use of the adhesive layer they provide for the windshield combined with their out of the box adhesive pad on the camera did the trick. What I learned is that it is very important to use the alcohol wipes on the windshield and windshield layer the camera adhesive pad attaches to. Now, it is rock solid in cool (I live in CA) and hot situations and I can handle it without worrying about it falling off my windshield.Picture quality is excellent for both day and night situations. I bought the polarizer lens for the camera which helped improve the quality of my still pictures (taken via voice-very cool and convenient or manually via the button on the camera).I really liked the wireless connection to the camera. It made it easy to program and download pics and videos to my phone.I also really like the away feature on the unit which detected movement and collision instances while my truck was parked. I've had a couple of instances in the past where my truck was hit while parked and the camera would have clearly caught enough about the hit and run driver to track them down and recover the cost of repairs. One thing that I wish is that the messages on the display were larger for easy reading while I'm driving. I also wish the symbols that come up on the screen were more obvious to understand.Overall, I would strongly recommend the N5 to anyone looking for a high quality dashcam for their vehicle. This is really a case of "you get what you pay for."

I have to say, I've used and installed quite a few dash cams in my own vehicle and in family member vehicles, and this Vantrue N5 dashcam is among the best.It includes so many features, with some standouts being:- Super capacitor, not a battery. This is critical for Canadian winters and the longevity of the dashcam. Super capacitors performs so much better, so I'm really glad to see it here.- The app is actually good! The app is easy to use and even has good reviews in the Google Play Store, a rarity!- Voice control. While I don't use this feature myself, I do know people who use it often, especially when they encounter road events that are not related to a collision.- Starvis 2 night vision is quite a bit better than older generations.- 24h parking mode. Most dashcams have this, so it's good to see here. And as with other dashcams, you will need to either use an external battery or a hardware kit (sold separately).- Support for up to 512GB sd card. With so many cameras, you'll want to get a large memory card, especially if you plan to record long trips and not just accidents.- Four channel cameras. This is the big selling feature here. Most dashcams offer either a front or a front and rear. This one offers a front, rear, and inside view from both the front and back.- GPS comes included. While these features are outstanding and the quality of the videos (from any of the cameras) is quite good, there are a few complaints.First, the rear camera is inside facing out, so you may get glare from your rear windshield. Licence plates are still easy to read, but if you have tinted windows or get strong reflections, it may not be as clear. The second thing is that the cameras can be moved up and down (vertically). The field of view is good, but I wish the front (inside-facing) camera could be angled towards the driver's side window to record police interactions.A final point with a camera system that records inside your vehicle is that this could be a double-edge sword. In the event that you are forced to turn over recorded evidence, what happens inside your vehicle could hold you liable for what happened outside your vehicle. This is especially true in an accident, where you might be "distracted". Just be aware of those implications.I do think that this camera would work well for a rideshare driver, since recording what goes on inside their vehicle could help them in the event of a dispute. One thing to keep in mind is that the rear camera (facing inward) might have a clear line of sight to a passenger's phone screen, so I would personally make it clear that they are being recorded from behind. In conclusion, this camera system has a LOT to offer, and can work extremely well in quite a few scenarios where every angle needs to be captured. While it's not the best for driver window interaction, there's enough captured by the inside cameras to more than make up for a lack of horizontal camera adjustment. The user experience is excellent, and the video quality is clear and hiccup free. It is still more advanced (i.e. complex) compared to a single camera system, but these tend to be "set and forget" devices anyway.

Excellent camera for the Uber, Taxi, Lyft, Rideshare driver. Excellent front footage. Surprisingly good footage on interior even at night. Above average rear footage. Also, if its in the budget, an excellent camera for the family minivan with a boat load of rambunctious kids or babies in rear facing car seats. The rear camera actually makes a great baby cam for the rear facing baby seats!++++ Front Camera Sony Starvis 2 IMX675 WDR 1944P!!!! Crisper, brighter pictures with less motion blur. (Sony Starvis 2 has improved low light sensitivity with much brighter low light images and video quality and lower power consumption for parking. License plates could be read clearly in city driving during day. At night, license plates were clearly visible when parked.)++ HDR Rear Camera has 2MP Sony Starvis Night Vision Sensors 1080 p with much better night images with less light halos and better images, supposed to show license plates at night (but we don't have them so I couldn't say)+ 2 interior cameras: Front Cabin Camera WDR, 4 IR lights 1080P; Rear Cabin Camera HDR, 4 IR Lights 1080P;++++ voice control: no more trying to fiddle with the camera while driving to take a photo, lock a video or turn on the wifi (especially the wifi - because on my other camera its really annoying connecting my phone so I tend not to).++ 5 GHz wifi - this is great for downloading clips faster but on a practical basis also quite useful as I don't have to switch my phone wifi to 2.4Ghz when trying to connect.++ unlike previous versions, this camera does not have reduced image quality when all cameras are in operation (all do 30 FPS and (I believe) advertised resolution)++++ main camera uses a magnetic pin connection which is very easy to use and very strong (cool beans - nicest mounting option I have seen - love this system - trick to removal is to straighten the camera out and pull straight out. There are guides inside and pins so you cannot damage the pins.++GPS logger to include both location & speed information which interfaces with the app to show your driving map alongside your video.+ has parking mode - with 4 different recording options to choose from based on your needs (and power consumption), etc.+ uses a supercapacitor instead of batteries so, when winter comes to the frozen north, I expect that it should stand up to the worst Canadian winters+ great packaging, looks expensive+ bright & large display, with easy to use control buttons+ well-designed app (much better than others)+ cables are thick, good strain relief and feel quality+ has picture in picture so can have multiple viewpoints at one time+ 3M adhesive, cleaning wipes and microfiber cloths+ cigarette charger for has extra usb A charging port for your personal devices+ works with up to 512 GB External Storage!!+ includes a trim tool for installation+ includes security stickers to let thieves know your car has video security+ records in H.265 Codec+ excellent support for the product via social media and a well-regarded company (IMO)+/- unsurprisingly, with 4 cameras, significant power consumption+/- collision mode doesn't start recording until 10s after impact and then records a 60s video, so if person high tails it you might not get any videoNOTE:- it is recommended not to use a SanDisk SD card for these cameras and recommended that you use Vantrue specific cards, I wish this was included- wiring harness for parking mode not included- there is an extra CPL filter sold separately which helps to reduce glare but for the price I wish it was included- not ETL certified or UTL certified (surprising considering the price and quality- some of the previous vantrue camera's hardwire kits and CPL lenses will work with this model if you are upgradingI am moving up from a more basic $150ish camera so this unit is a big step up to say the least. So while I love all the features, they may not be unique to this camera at this price point. However, I still think this is worth the investment for your safety, security, and potential legal or insurance purposes. This brand has also sold a lot of cameras and I consider them a "known entity".
