These are not 5/16”. They are smaller. I sent them back.

I confirmed that these were stainless steel and 3/16" in diameter. Other than that, what is there to say?Good quality and price. If I had purchased galvanized bearings, I could have gotten 100 for the same price but I only needed three of these 10.

If you have a horizontal Briggs and Stratton and it’s got that ball starter. And then balls rust or brake. The starter start’s jumping or don’t engage at all. Take it off. Clean the inside with brake parts cleaner. It’s a dry box with no oil ever. Then replace the balls with these. They won’t rust like the old steel balls. Replace the starter and run grease from a chainsaw grease gun into the little hole at the end of the shaft. Bingo you’re back to work. A lot of people tap the sticker with a hammer. Yes it does free the balls for that start. But it’s better to spend the $9 and fix it right. You could spend a lot more for a whole new starter. But the rusted balls are the problem. And it’s easy to fix.
