I’ve gone through a couple of these already and they all last just minutes. How can a potentiometer go bad this easily. I can’t even reach the seller.Buyer beware why this has an alert for high return rate.The off position does not even work. Off still allows signals through and it is not completely off.

Bought these to replace an on, off/ volume knob on a set of desktop speakers. The first one I soldered in had a TON of feedback and noise. I tried another and luckily that one works well. One caveat to note is that, they all had different resistance readings, not sure if that's good or bad. Anyway so far so good, but it's rather unfortunate that one of them was found to be junk. Not quite worth the price that you pay, however they will do a in a pinch if you really need this type of potentiometer switch.

When the knob is turned to the "off" position, the on/off circuit is closed (electrical signal is passed). When it is "on", where you are adjusting the value of the potentiometer, the circuit is open. Not sure if I got a bad batch or this is the intended design, but it seems backwards of what I would expect.If this works for your design, then I have no issue with the product and it would be rated 5 stars.

Firm off position with heavy detent to engage potentiometer from off position. Solid slightly resistant rotation so the knob isn't loose and loses it selected position from vibrations.

Full left to click OFF. On the dual pots, resistance from outer pin to outer pin, 20k ohms. From center wiper pin to outer pin resistance increase/decrease was smooth and linear. Used one of these devices to repair the Power on/off - Volume control on a pair of desktop speakers. Worked great!

These work just fine. Its nice having a Potentiometer with a switch so that say in the case of a light you can dim it and turn it on and off in a single turn. Its also nice how clicky the On/off is on these so there's no risk of accidentally turning it off or on.
