Solid Stainless Steel Balls

To better understand each type of commonly used stainless steel and its properties, see the following descriptions.
- 440C Stainless Steel is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel. It has high strength, medium corrosion resistance, good hardness, and wear resistance
- 304 Stainless Steel is the most widely used stainless steel. It is austenitic stainless steel and has a higher corrosion resistance than ordinary steel.
- 316L Stainless Steel is also austenitic stainless steel. It offers higher corrosion resistance than 304.
- 201 Stainless Steel is the least expensive type of stainless steel. It is tough in cold environments but has lower corrosion resistance. It is the preferred choice for applications that require low cost, high durability, and no concern for exposure to corrosive elements.

Got these to use as paint mixers for miniature painting. They have worked great and are affordable. Have not notice any signs of rust due to the paint.

I add two or three to acrylic paint jars that have separated and gummed up. Together with my nifty little shaker these ballbearings bring new life to an otherwise throwaway item since it can take forever to get them thoroughly mixed up. Without these ballbearings it would be hopeless. No rust so far.

I purchased these to put in my model and art paints to agitate them more while shaking. I had to research which grade of stainless steel had the highest to corrosion resistance. So far this grade has held up with no discoloring of the paints.
