Who We Are
We are a small, family owned business operating out of Richmond, Virginia. We have an extensive range of AISI 316 stainless steel hardware, suitable for boats, sailing, living near the beach or anywhere that rust and corrosion is an issue.
US Stainless
Shackle Line
Metal Shackles are the most commonly used to connect chains or ropes. They can be used in towing, anchor lines, dock lines, and more. Shackles are classified by shape, material, size, and working load limit. There are many types of shackles and different shackle shapes are used over others for various reasons. Our line of shackles is made from type 316 Stainless Steel, considered by many to be best in class. 316 stainless is corrosion resistant and very durable even in the harshest conditions.
- 316 Stainless is often call "Surgical Steel", as it is the go to grade in Food Handling and Medicine
- Marine Grade Stainless
- Ideal for marine use, diving, and chemically harsh environments.
Bow Shackle
- Curvature of the bow allows for loads along various angles without developing a bend
- Often used to connect chain to anchors
Wide D Shackle
- The wider body maximizes mounting area
- Ideal for use on mooring buoys
Hex Pin Shackle
- Hex pin shackles create a non-snag surface
- Great for connecting to anchors
Anti-Off Shackle
- Safety pin makes anti-off shackles ideal for permanent connections
- Safety pin prevents unlocking in situations that may cause a threaded pin to come undone
US Type D Shackle
- The US type pin is much larger allowing for larger load limits
- Ideal for in-line loads in which a normal pin might bend
US Type Bow Shackle
- A US type pin is much larger than a normal pin allowing for larger load limits
- Perfect for situations in which a normal pinned bow shackle might bend
Long D Shackle
- The longer body allows for a greater weight to strength ratio
Twist Shackle
- Great for when you need to rotate gear for connection, yet don't want to use two connectors
Key Pin Shackle
- Key pin shackles allow for a quick release, can also be done single handed
- Great for situations in which the shackle must be undone often
D Shackle
- The shape and curvature make D shackles ideal for inline loads
- Should not be side loaded as this can cause bending

On Amazon it's shown rated for WLL600+ kg. But there is no marking on the schakle.

I use two of these on a self designed scooter lift to attach the end of a chain to a chain length adjuster (self designed). I anchor the screw in cross pin with a 3/4" stainless steel split key ring. This combination has worked well for me. It is strong enough and so far has completely resisted southern heat and humidity caused rusting.

This device is versatile for anchor attachment or connecting sail halyards. I used this to reattach the clew of my mainsail to the rear of the boom. I think it has a 25 KN rating for stainless steel. No problems so far.

Solid quality product which I liked so much it replaced other stainless steel shackles I had used.These 5/16" shackles fit through US Stainless 1/4" stainless steel chain and are a better match for it than the 1/4" shackle, because they have a 1500 lb working load while the chain has 2000 lb working load (1/4" shackle has 1000 lb working load).Prompt and accurate support from US Stainless for all my questions like what shackles fit through which chains that come up when trying to integrate a mooring solution out of their separate components.
