Shackle Line

Metal Shackles are the most commonly used to connect chains or ropes. They can be used in towing, anchor lines, dock lines, and more. Shackles are classified by shape, material, size, and working load limit. There are many types of shackles and different shackle shapes are used over others for various reasons. Our line of shackles is made from type 316 Stainless Steel, considered by many to be best in class. 316 stainless is corrosion resistant and very durable even in the harshest conditions.

  • 316 Stainless is often call "Surgical Steel", as it is the go to grade in Food Handling and Medicine
  • Marine Grade Stainless
  • Ideal for marine use, diving, and chemically harsh environments.

These are well priced for the quality that is Stainless Steel in the harsh salt water environment of Alaska.

These are very good quality shackles. There are no rough edges (which is very important for where I am using them) and the pin screws in easily. I actually like the laser etched markings, too.

Not 1/4". Undersized by 1/32". If proportional, strength is only about 87% of rated strength. Tiny key on pin. I compared item to two other actual 1/4" shackles.

Pin fits my anchor and anchor chain...Pin is 1/4 inch vs the thicker pins for other shackles. That allows it to fit the trip link I use on both my grapnel anchor and claw anchor for my pond boat.

I should have paid more attention to the dimensions of this shackle. This is of reasonable quality, but it's application is probably best suited for jewellery or clothing applications. I purchased this to attach to a lightweight tow line but I would never use it for that even though it is rated at 935 lbs working load limit. I needed something I could use with a power hand winch.
