I bought this a few years ago when my GSD was expecting puppies. With the concave wand (vs internal probe used for cattle) you get a pretty decent non-invasive image. I was able to see how many puppies she was expecting and confirmed no retained pups at the end of labor.Fast forward a few years, now I am expecting and tried it out to confirm fetal heart anctivity and early movement. (With an anterior placenta, it is difficult to feel fetal movements before ~20 weeks and Dopplers can be tricky to use and may not always pick up fetal heart tones causing unnecessary panic). The image I captured was around 16 weeks, but it’s important to note that I waited until I had an official ultrasound read by an actual radiologist before I attempted this.Words of caution: I wouldn’t recommend buying this product for the sole purpose of monitoring your own pregnancy because not being able to identify structures (especially when it’s too early) or not knowing what you are even looking at can cause panic as well. Knowing which way to hold the probe and the corresponding plane you’re looking at helps a ton. (I’ve had an introductory level to ultrasound use on adults previously, but I’m sure there are really good YouTube videos out there). That being said, it is a really cool and unique experience to watch your baby grow and move before he/she is even born. There’s a “freeze” image button to help you capture the perfect moments. Use this at your own risk and sparingly because in theory the ultrasound could generate heat if the probe is held in one place for long periods of time (although I don’t know the exact details of specific time, temperature, effects, etc. Just be cautious). This product should never be used in lieu of proper medically trained professionals to manage your pregnancy — or your pet’s. But it does help to provide some reassurance once you know what you’re even looking for.

Perfect unit for confirmation of pregnancy on my dogs right out of the box. Learning what it can do is a bit more of a challenge.

First I love this machine. I’ve been using it for almost a full year. Then I had an issue with it turning on and I contacted customer service. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a company stand behind their product so fast and get me taken care of in more of a professional manner than they have. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an ultrasound machine. It has helped myself and many friends to definitely find pregnancy in dogs without question. Best think I’ve purchased for my breeding program 👏👏👏

You can't get a good reading, its to grainy and the probe is to big. You need a smaller one.

But hard to understand at first and the instruction book is even harder to understand. Luckily the YouTube has good videos. Once you understand how to work it, it's very good

I have uses this mashine three times in three different dogs (1 Dachshund, 2 GSD) to confirm pregnancy. I am not experienced enough to get an accurate count, but good enough to know a dog is pregnant. Definitely worth the money. At this point I have broken even cost wise. Each ultrasound cost me about $270 plus the drive…I do wish the image resolution was just a bit better. But again, that’s the difference between a $1000 mashine and a $5000 one.I recommend for breeders of small animals.

I was so pleased with this machine. We confirmed pregnancy at 28 days on a golden retriever. This will make a huge difference for our non-profit service dog program The Roverchase Foundation!! I would highly recommend it.
