I am a retired veterinary technician and I currently have one dog at home. I do as much of her veterinary care as I can at home including things like her annual heartworm testing. I purchase an at-home test kit that I can process and run all at home. In order to do this, I need to draw up a little bit of a blood sample and these mini veterinary tourniquets are perfect. I have other people at home to help me hold her but they are not quite sure how to hold her vein properly in order for me to access it. That is where these devices come in. They are a simple, easy to use design. They fit my dog's leg perfectly and they are easy to operate one-handed. I am hoping to get the sample this weekend. These are also good for emergencies or for at-home dog or cat Lyme disease testing or other home diagnostic test kits.
