I am using these to fix my shelves in my China cabinet. I've had my cabinet for 30 years and the shelves have never fit right. Recently they fell and broke many treasured collections I have had for 50 years. I have a kitten that jumped on the cabinet and broke my collections. My China cabinet is not straight inside. It curves so each shelf doesn't fit tight. I have only used on one glass shelf so far. the zinc trim is seen from the front. I didn't want cover the complete shelf because some of the shelf is tight in the cabinet. There is about 1/2 inch or more difference in the cabinet where the shelves go. With both pieces on the shelf there still is 1/8 inch at the left of the shelf. The right end of the shelf is tight without the piece. With all my collections I have left no one will notice the pieces don't cover the edges of the shelf.

I use this product as a border to all of my stained glass window projects. It is easy to cut and easy to solder. It is very strong so I know my windows will be secure when mounted in the appropriate frames.

Works great for my stained glass work. The 1/2" size should work for just about anything except very very small projects.
