Tuga's South Swell swim shorts are lightweight and loose fitting, similar to a board short in terms of fit, but these are 80% Nylon/20% Spandex. Swim shorts have an elastic waistband, adjustable built-in drawstring, color blocked, full mesh "brief" style liner, and Tuga logo at front. UPF vs SPF
Pretty much the same thing. UPF is a rating for clothing and indicates the level of sun protection. The higher the better! UPF 50+ blocks 98%+ of UV rays. It is also critical that the protection you choose blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Tuga Sunwear does.

Use age, weight and height as a starting point for children, but please use actual product measurements for best fit. Unless otherwise stated, all our clothing is designed with a regular, comfort fit and not fitted in order to provide the highest sun protection possible. Nice bright color looks just like the picture. Son is going on a shark dive for his 14th bday, so this is a perfect gift! The fabric is like the shirt, dry wicking fabric. Has a drawstring waist tie so they will stay up. My son wears a 12 slim and I got the 13/14 so they would not be skin tight. Just hope they look okay when wet!

Fits my son a little big but that's because it's a size 2/3 which saves me money for next year. It protect him from the sun and the material feel really nice.

7 year old (who normally wears a medium in tops & 8H in bottoms) is wearing an 11/12 and could probably use the size 13/14 for more room in the rise, however the legs would probably be too long. I did cut the mesh liner out cause it waS riding up and the rise was too short with it in. My son complained the liner was uncomfortable and it was causing the suit to pull down exposing his crack! Removing the liner improved the fit in a big way and now he loves it. So, I would buy these again and remove the liner because I don't like the huge baggy boys swim suits currently on the market and I don't like the skin tight "jammers". After tons of searching for years, these are the best we've found, thats why they get 4 stars. We have the dark blue tiki style and love the color. Hes worn them a ton with very little fading/pilling.

These are so cute!! I bought these for our summer vacation where we spend most of our time at the beach. My son loved these! All of his other ones would hold sand in the net causing a rash on his upper thighs. These did not at all! Well worth the money & they looked amazingly cute as well :)

We leave near the beach and go often. My 5 year old starts to complain after 30 minutes in the sand and water that his trunks are chafing. These are a very soft material that dries quickly. Not too long or too baggy. Really good quality. I will be looking for another Tuga suit next season.

I had to get a size 3/4 for my average built 5 year old. Other than weird sizing, I am very pleased. My son loves the shorts and matching long sleeved top.
