I tried using these with short pull levers. It was basically impossible to adjust so that they had sufficient rotor clearance while also allowing strong braking without pulling all the way to the bar. They would be perfect if used with a lever like Avid Speed Dial that allows adjusting cable pull, but with standard short pull levers they are just about worthless.Also, the cable pinch bolt really mangled the cable.A good single-piston caliper is more satisfying. Or get a hybrid cable/hydraulic caliper, or just switch to hydraulic.

One of the bolts stripped on initial installation. The SLC is definitely not an upgrade from the original spyre. Returned and purchased the original and am much happier.
