It's simply too good. It's so hard it could strip your sprocket.

Actually, I know this will sound weird, but it was smoother teeth than the original. Hopefully, it is harder steel than the original. The first one cracked by the set screw.

Running this on my Slash 4x4 with a 54 tooth spur gear so I can get more off-road action in. Really nice pinion gear that works as expected. I'd recommend putting some lock tight on the grub screw if you don't plan on changing this out very often (the blue lock tight can be removed without chemicals)

Worked great. I ordered this the same time I ordered the Castle 1410 system with 3800Kv for my brushed Stampede 4x4. Gave good speed and power. On 2S, I was popping wheelies on the launch so hard the truck would come off it's rear tires and make that wheelie bar work. I ordered a 13T to give even more speed and take out some of that torque so all my power is usable. I refuse to dial down the punch control...probably why I had to order new ring and pinions for my front and rear diffs. Oh well. This is still a good quality product. I didn't use any locktite, so my grub screw initially kept creeping back out, so I had to really give it a turn. I recommend just a HINT of the locktite. You don't want to have to fight to get it off if you decide to change the gear like I ended up doing.

I bought this because we built a backyard track, and it's a bit on the small side. I can't get up to really high speeds with my Slash 4x4 that I could otherwise get at a more open track. As a result, the motor and ESC were straining to always throttle up with the stock pinion.I put this in my slash and the heat dropped about 20 degrees where it won't go above 135 for motor and 125 for esc no matter how hard I push it (7.2v and 8.4v nimh).I haven't run a lipo yet, so I'm not sure what that will yield, but so far this pinion is great for slowing down a vehicle, and allowing you to have much higher acceleration and instant power out of corners.
