This item failed after 15 months. TP-Link offer a two year guarantee so no problem right? Wrong, the vendor is an absolute joke and just says that the Amazon policy only covers returns up to 30 days and I must contact the manufacturer. TP-Link say that as I bought it from a Bulgarian vendor I must resolve it with them (I tried no chance). They also say and I quote:"Also, TP-Link does not provide international warranty service. Your TP-Link product is only covered by the warranty policy of the country where the product was originally purchased. If you need to ship your product back to the country where you originally purchased the product for warranty services, you will need to pay for both ways of the shipping fees."So essentially forget any thought of returning under a two year warranty you have 30 days and good luck with that from these two companies who are running a "who is the slipperiest" contest.Do not buy or do so hoping you have no issues.

I needed to be able to extend WiFi down to my garage to get the software update for my car. The garage is 2 floors down, and the stairways to it are rather narrow. In the past, I tried Mesh wireless network, but in my situation, it didn't deliver strong enough signal. I have 1Gbs Internet service, and on ethernet connection, the max download speed that I have seen so far is 980Mbs and the upload around 900Mbs. On WiFi, it is usually between 650 and 700 Mbs for download, and between 700 and 750 Mbs for upload. With TP-Link Powerline WiFi extender, I get the download speed between 45 and 50Mbs and the upload speed around 30Mbs in the garage. It is on the same electrical panel but not on the same breaker switch, which I've heard slows down the speed dramatically. The only thing connected to the WiFi extender is the car, so I am not sure how the performance differs if you have multiple devices connected to it at all time. For my use case, the download speed (45 to 50Mbs) is good enough, and I am quite happy with this WiFi extender.

Tengo meses usándolo y no he experimentado problemas ni siquiera he tenido que reiniciarlos.

Wonderful Niche Device, but you really need to know your fuse box. This device is hardwired (ethernet cable) to your router to clearly it has to plug in to an outlet close by. The other device (Wi-Fi portion) can be anywhere in the house as LONG AS the other outlet is on the SAME fuse box (large houses have two fuse boxes) and on the SAME Phase (meaning both outlet's fuses are on the left or right side of the fuse box). If you just need more Wi-Fi coverage, get a normal extender and they work fine. For my case, I need Wi-Fi coverage on my Dock which is 500 ft away from my house and must use a device like this to carry the Internet signal through my electric wiring. It works great!

This unit worked when testing around the house like a charm. Great signal, quick to connect and minimal speed loss. I tried to get it to work in the garage that feeds off of the main panel via a sub panel breaker and another panel in the garage using every combination of outlets and both phases in both locations. It didn't connect, not sure why. The garage was about 50m from the main panel. There are pool pumps, filters and heaters running off the garage panel so I am suspecting that the electrical noise was too much for this unit to run from a circuit in the house to the garage. Thanks Amazon for taking it back.

I wasn't able to use it for my planned location, given our house wiring. Apparently, by "same circuit" they mean on the same circuit breaker, and not the whole electrical main circuit.

Works great. I can use my laptop in the garage and more importantly my wireless outlet controller to turn on my engine block heater for my truck. Some people have issues with the setup. What the fail to understand is you need the units on the same electrical phase. In the USA you have two 110V phases coming into the house, combined it 220V. So the signal needs to be on the same phase. If not then you need a repeater to jump over to the other phase, or simply change out your wiring at the breaker box so both outlets are on the same phase. My remote garage is 150ft away and I have no problems.

So bought this to give good wifi at the other end of the house. The wifi part works fine but the two devices don't pair (or stay paired) past about 50ft - they communicate via the house wiring so this shouldn't be an issue - but the closer the devices are physically the better they communicate. So putting in the room I wanted the better wifi means good wifi but very spotty internet. I didn't realize this until a couple months into use because my son would just use the regular house wifi and never told me this system wasn't working. I haven't tried customer service because I am pretty sure there isn't a setting for "stronger signal over house wiring" - lazy I guess since its too late to return. Anyway, didn't work for me.

Have used all kinds of routers, repeaters, etc to try to get wireless in a remote room. This adapter set worked perfectly. Unlike many repeaters which use WiFi to obtain an internet connection to amplify, this one uses the second version of Powerline, which is like using an ethernet connection directly to a wireless Access Point. Installation is basically a matter of plugging in two small adapters. It uses mesh-like technology apparently developed by TP-Link.This thing works, NO slow down in internet speed for your network, can easily integrate with your existing network (and SSID's) automatically to keep you connected to best signal where ever you are in your home..For me, it functions like an additional mesh point for the far off bedroom over our garage, which I got a strong WiFi signal to using the included Powerline and Wireless adapters. The WiFi adapter operates on both 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz, which is an important feature. Frankly, I can't believe this works so perfectly!

Due to the layout of our condo, it's really hard to get any wifi signal in the room furthest from the router and there's no way to move the router closer. To address this problem, I had originally purchased a wifi extender before I realized this type of product exists.I purchased the "wifi" version (TL-WPA7517KIT) and so far I am very happy with it. It only took a couple minutes to install (one unit connects to router, the other goes wherever you want your signal). With the wifi extender, I only got ~5-10 mbps in the "far" room with poor wifi. Now, I'm getting ~80 mbps through both the ethernet connection AND similar speeds on wifi. I synced the connections so this seems to allow some sort of seamless wifi boost throughout our house. I live in a pretty densely packed residential area so even in the room with the router, I typically get ~100 mbps maximum, so the 80 is fantastic.I may purchase a second "wired add on" for my home office set up, which is in another bedroom and sometimes gets spotty wifi connection due to interference from neighbor wifi signals.
