Drums with 14" heads are normaly pretty expensive in my experience. This one goes for under 200 and comes with a carrying case. It sounds great as well.

Beautiful drum. Great Sound. Nice low and top end. For sure drum, in humid conditions. No worries about wood swelling. Glad I purchased.

Toca Freestyle Canon Djembe 14 with Bag, Black Mamba,It's light, it looks cool, but I couldn't get the ringing to go away. I've played djembe for 20+ years and was looking for a light standing drum in a real size. I put like 30 diamonds in (aka. tuning) and the drum was as tight as it got- still a terrible overtone ringing. I watched some youtube videos on how to get the ringing away and hence applied some foam strips on the inside and put some electrical tape under the skin. The ringing went away somewhat but not totally and then the drum sounded flat. Bottomline, Great if you don't mind the ringing. But if you do mind the ringing, it sounds terrible. I sent it back.

I am impressed with this drum! Before you even ask, this drum has a skin head and does not sound like a Remo drum. The low end is totally sick, as in terminally ill. I've played my share of drums and I have never heard one that has a subwoofer-like bass like this one. A complete bonus that it is light as a feather. Comes with a decent bag. Plus it is totally black, even the head. Mine does not look like the picture; the drum and head are both black and shiny, not grey.I disagree from prior reviews stating that this is not a professional drum. I feel it is, and that is the way I intend to use it. You might not want it to be your only drum, however, as it does have a very distinctive sound, brighter and not as warm as a wooden djembe, almost as if the midrange was tuned down.Highly recommended.

the drum head has an imperfection through the middle of the skin, I love the drum, but I was disappointed with the imperfection.

It is my first Djembe. Down the road i will get an authentic wood drum. I believe that this drum has its place in a jam session however, it does not have the warm resonating tone of a wooden drum. It is crisp and clear with a deep booming base. I would recommend this for a beginner like myself.
