About this item

  • Premium T316 Stainless Steel: Our black stainless steel cable is made of standard marine grade T316 stainless steel. It has higher corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel. It ensures first-class durability even in high-salt coastal areas and chlorine-rich environments such as swimming pools. The black oxide coating provides additional corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and weather protection, and it will not peel off the color over time.
  • 7x19 Strand Core: 7 groups of 19 strands braided. The strong core structure makes the wire rope tightly wound. The wire rope has a smooth surface, high polishing and no burrs. Easy to bend and twist, suitable for DIY fencing and home improvement projects that require flexibility, and after cutting, the strands are neat and not loose. Diameter: 3/16 inch, Length: 500 feet. The breaking strength is 3700 lbs and the working load limit is 840 lbs.
  • Elegant Black Wire Rope: Uyenseoy black wire rope is manufactured with an oxidation blackening process, and the black finish is uniform and smooth. It is an ideal choice for building a modern black railing system, which can meet your personalized DIY railing needs and add a unique and elegant aesthetic to your home.
  • Wide Application: This 3/16" black steel cable is suitable for a variety of uses. Whether it is used for construction, deck railings, offshore operations, railing systems, suspension systems, etc., our steel cables can handle it perfectly. The most reasonable cost investment, the greatest return on investment.
  • Easy to Store: This 3/16-inch stainless steel cable is neatly coiled on the spool. It is convenient to reel in and out the line, easy to use and store.
  • Warm Tips: When using, the wire rope is coated with grease during manufacturing, please wear gloves when using it. The maintenance of the wire rope during use is very important. It can not only extend the service life, but also improve work efficiency. It is recommended to check and maintain it regularly.

Correct use and maintenance can better extend the service life of the wire rope.

1. When unwinding and installing the wire rope, the correct method should be used to prevent the wire rope from kinking. In addition, be careful not to let the surface of the wire rope get sandy to avoid aggravating wear and affecting the service life of the wire rope.

2. If the whole roll of wire rope needs to be cut off during use, the end should be tied or melted.

3. When the rope clamp must be installed, the spacing between the rope clamps is 5-6 times the diameter of the wire rope.

4. When the wire rope is wound on the drum, it should be arranged neatly and not wound randomly, otherwise it will cause serious squeezing and crushing of the wire rope during work, affecting the service life of the wire rope.

5. For multi-layer winding equipment, it is inevitable that the wire rope will "bite the rope" during use. It is recommended to check the "bite the rope" part frequently during use and strengthen lubrication, or regularly "slip the rope" and cut it off to stagger the "bite the rope" part.

The black stainless steel wire rope has a smooth surface, high polishing, and no burrs. The 3/16 steel cable is versatile and easy to use and hang. I use it to hang my shade sails . And i like the mat black color as it disappears to the eye.

This is 3/16" stainless steel cable that has been treated somehow to be black. I couldn't find any mention of the process used to make it black (whether the color goes all the way thru, or is a coating or surface treatment or?) but the color is very even and consistent. To my eye this will go better on my railing project than untreated silver stainless steel. While it does indeed measure 3/16" it seems like really heavy cable. Kind of a "my eyes are bigger than my stomach" thing. I can't confirm or refute their 3,700 lb breaking strength but certainly wouldn't doubt it.It cuts well with my dedicated steel cable cutter when using the trick to wrap electrical tape around the area to be cut to keep it from unraveling. The only question is how the black color will hold up outside but I won't be able to answer that until it has had some exposure to the weather. I am going to use it for my project because that's what I ordered but if I was doing it again I would go with 1/8" cable. But if course that is not the fault of the seller or Amazon.

This 3/16 wire cable is perfect for string lights over distances over 15 feet. Any shorter than this is overkill, I ran 3 segments ranging from 22 to 32 feet. I was able to just wrap the string lights around this cable and they look really nice, the black cable blends with the power wire perfectly. This was easy to work and the project came out great. I would order this again.
