Good reproduction Civil War foot soldier sword. Brass engraving and scrolling on guard looks impressive, scabbard has slight discolor spots on brass, sword fits the blade curvature perfectly. Feels lighter than other SZCO repro swords because blade slightly shorter. Handle wrap is top notch, wire wrap very nice. All in all pretty good sabre and scabbard. Etching on blade is impressive. Price very reasonable, I'd buy again as these swords can fluctuate in price tho this particular sabre has been stable on current price below $57. Is my favorite SZCO sabre and scabbard. If I were to only one sabre, this would be my pick.

Looks very nice but not sharp, very dull. Big stamp at top of saber blade, made in India.

Sorry I have no photo but the product page pictures are accurate. This is a strong, weighted sword, good for display purposes, not battle use. apparently a replica of a U.S. pattern (1860?) foot officer's sword. Nice design. Came a bit oily out of the scabbard, so you should wipe with a clean rag. If the sword doesn't fit one way just twist the scabbard horizontally and it should then fit fine. All in all a fairly nice and inexpensive collector's replica.

These sabers can be presented (after cleaning up) as 'unique' (not mass produced) ceremonial just as the character of the DMG is unique. Very popular for cutting the ceremonial cake!

For the price it is an its a very good replica with some obvious shortcuts to save cost. I appreciate the sword came greased in the box/wrap.

I have many health care issues which have affected my ability to hold onto swords for ceremonial purposes,I belong to a few Orders which require a sword, I find that I can hold onto this sword without it falling out of my hand. None of my Fraternal Brethren realize that this sword is not emblematic of the Order. (And, if they do, nothing is said) They are just pleased that I can participate.

very nice engraving and craftsmanship for the money, solid and well built, blade is dull, scabbard well made also, perfect for what I wanted a, sword to display on the wall. I don't know if the sword fits well in the scabbard as when I tried it wouldn't go all the way in and I didn't want to scratch the blade trying, since I was using both separate when hanging I didn't force the issue. It comes packed very well but be aware the entire blade is thickly coated in a protective gel that needs to be wiped off, otherwise I am quite pleased.

This is actually a very nice sword, though it's unclear just what the blade is made of, so I don't think I'd consider it for stage use except as a prop or costume piece. The only issue I have with this is the scabbard. The blade is straight, but the scabbard has a slight curvature that makes it a little difficult to get the blade all the way in.

I was happily surprised at the high quality of this sword. Obviously, it is for decoration but it is superior in it's look and feel. The etching on the blade is very nice. I bought it for my father who is making a shadow box for my great great great grandfather who was in the civil war. Highly recommend this sword.
