I ordered this to replace the thermostat in my old GE Hotpoint refrigerator. It worked well for my repair and was easy to install.

Was listed as being compatible to the one that I had; it wasn't. Skip the hassle and buy OEM parts.

The only numbers on my original are 3ART5A51 which I could only find vague references to in Mexico. I did a lot of research though... Here is the low-down. These things are pretty universal. for what they do. The differences are that there appears to be two sizes, a 3 inch one and this one is about 2.5. Also how they mount, flanges bent in flanges bent out, etc. The length of the probe, this one is about 20 inches, some of them come up to 3 feet. Lastly there are two ratings on them (Maybe more, but I've only seen two on this type) you have the 12/6 FLA and the 10/5.This one was the size, probe length, and rating I needed. Mine had holes in the flange to mount it. I just drilled those myself and it works absolutely perfect.

Don't buy cheap appliance parts on Amazon. Lesson finally learned. Two out of three parts I ordered were dead on arrival, including this one. This is not a review of the pckgng. The thermostat didn't work. It would not turn the refrigerator on no matter what the dial was on. A more expensive replacement worked fine. I don't know whether the flimsy pckgng had anything to do with it. Why am I spelling pckgng without vowels? Amazon rejected my review the first time because they thought I was reviewing the pckgng and not the product, even though the pckgng is part of what you're buying when you purchase online. The misspelling is to avoid triggering hypersensitive bots.Repeat: This is not a review of the pckgng. These are not the droids you're looking for.
