This was part of first wheel set I built in 2015, still running strong. I have now built three+ wheel sets using Sun Alloy Rim 700c CR18 Silver 32 hole PV; 36 hole PV and another set using Sun Alloy Rim, 700c, Cr18, Black, 36 Hole, Presta Valve. I ride beyond hill and dale; 50 - 70 mile fun rides on road and 20- 30 miles on back country dirt trails. All wheels need maintenance occasionally, I have had minimal returning with these wheel sets. Never an issue with these rims, they run true,

Got this for the front wheel of the first (and only) wheel set I built, to replace the 27" wheels on an old frame I wanted to outfit with modern stuff. I built the wheel set almost a year ago, and have ridden on it a couple times a week since then, on poorly paved city streets.I've seen others complain that these CR-18 rims can be difficult to true. As a novice wheel builder, I didn't feel that to be the case. I trued the wheel by mounting it to my bike, using the brake shoes as a guide, and "eyeballing" it. I'll note, the only aspect of bike performance I really care about is brake performance, so I like my front brake super responsive. The wheel is true enough to have the brake shoes within 1mm of the rim, and has been almost since I put the wheel together.I've been using the Continental Tour Ride Urban Bicycle Tire (700x37), with Continental CX 42mm Presta Valve Tube (700 x 32-47cc) on this rim, with no problems.The whole setup seems tough, and I hope to get many more years of use out of the rim.

SunRingle is the defacto standard for bicycle wheels. This wheel was no exception.

I am happy with the rims overall. They are silver and not polished so they are pretty dull looking. They are clean and sturdy but a pinch on the heavy side. They are new and fresh and will keep my vintage ride rollin'. Greg
