This stud finder did not work for us as we have plaster and lath walls. It did however state that it wouldn't work, unfortunately we didn't read that before purchasing. We had to return the unit.

Perfect stud finder for DIYers. Great for TVs and pictures and everyday around the house stuff. Just make sure you read the instructions to properly calibrate the tool. The screen is cool and its pretty accurate when calibrated .I like that it comes with a battery so it ready to go out the box. Thumbs up for me.

Most times when you purchase certain items the 🔋 batteries are good. I got ready to use the product and the dead battery. Not totally satisfied.

Yes, it finds the studs and it also finds the electric wiring in the walls. I used it near a power outlet where I knew I'd find a stud and it found the stud, but took a few tries since the calibration alert kept going off, even though I'd already calibrated it and, as the instructions said, moved it slowly across the wall, being careful to keep it flat against the wall. Also, the screen is a bit dim. I lights up, so you can see it in poor lighting, but that's not where I would usually use it.But yes, it works, and it was accurate. Although, I prefer the one I bought at Home Depot in the same price range, and while that one's screen doesn't light up, I don't need it to and it's easier to see.

This is a great stud finer for me since I have one home wood framing and a high-rise condo with metal studs. This sensor is selectable for both types and also detects wiring and plumbing behind the drywall. There was recently an incident in out high-rise building where someone drilled into a a high pressure water line while hanging a picture and caused a massive amount of water damage in there unit and also several units below them. This could have been avoided if they had used this sensor before drilling. This is well worth the money, in my opinion.

I tested this stud finder on both insulated and non-insulated walls, including an open wall, and it accurately located both 2x4 and 2x6 studs. When it indicates the direction of the stud, it’s spot-on, and when it says "center," it’s very close to or directly on the center. The tool takes some getting used to, as it has two unlabeled buttons, and the instructions aren’t very clear about what each button does. I ended up experimenting by pressing the buttons in various patterns to access the different modes. The overall build is as expected, with a standard plastic housing and rubber buttons. However, the display is excellent—bright and clear, making it easy to read at a glance.
