Received Start-X as Christmas gift and installed it in less than 20 minutes. Actually, I took my time because I didn't want to make any mistakes. It actually installs in less than 10 minutes.

So I expected this to be easier to install, but using the provided instructions and video, there was some missing information that would have helped. A quick and dirty installation would have been fine using the provided instructions, but I hate rattles, and the thought that there could be issues after adjusting the steering wheel made this something I had to do thoroughly. In addition to what is included in the kit, I recommend having a decent light source, a Phillips screwdriver, a 10mm driver, some quality self-adhesive foam tape (to wrap parts with to avoid rattles), a pair of pants that won't scratch up your paint, a plastic clip removal tool, and a small pair of flush cutters.*Watch the video and read the full booklet first.* Finish dirty installing/programming and test it before final mounting, securing, and reassembly!I wanted to do a tidy installation and avoid rattles and potential binding/damage during steering column adjustments and since I am a large man with large hands, it became necessary to remove the Phillips screw on the right-hand bottom corner, and the 10mm screw on the left-hand bottom corner, for more wiggle room to mount the device and tidy up excess wire adequately, (making sure to avoid the airbag). To do this I had to pull out the driver door entry floor trim and the console to floor trim panel it connects to, to get to the 10mm screw. (This was a pain). Note that while the driver door entry floor trim pulls straight up, the console-to-floor trim panel it connects to has angled plastic clips and a nut that holds this to a stud on the floor. To remove this without breaking it, after removing the nut, I had to pry away from the door, toward the accelerator pedal. On the first try, I made a mistake programming, so I ended up having to tear everything apart again, clear the program, and start the programming over. Don't be like me, test it before going any further than necessary. Also, it would be wise to test your steering wheel adjustment travel after installation to ensure there is no binding.

Installation was straightforward with the provided video. The only thing that needs to be done after following the steps in the video would be programming the device which is provided in the booklet and only took literally 2 minutes. The whole installation process didn’t take more than 20 minutes. Great product so far, I hope it remains that way.

This is an amazing product, followed the instructions and the video and it works great with my original car keys on my 2015 Toyota Avalon. I feel like anyone who is rating this product poorly is not installing the kit properly because it really does work !!

The install of this is so easy, it literally took me only 10 minutes to install it, if you are looking to upgrade your car to have remote start I would recommend this. They have made it so easy to add remote start to your vehicle I am impressed. Just installed this and works great. I will re-evaluate after time and update review if I need to.

Installed in our 2018 Avalon, no issues with the unit, took longer to figure out how to remove access panels on car itself.

So easy to install I thought I did it wrong. Installed on 2017 Toyota Avalon. It took longer to delicately but easily remove the dash covers than to plug the wires in. Living in the southwest with temps 100+ degrees in the summer it will be nice to cool the car down prior to getting in it. It sucks that Toyota forces the engine off once you unlock the doors but that Toyota, not this device. Cheap awesome DYI project. Literally 30 minutes and 25 minutes of that was removing the dashboard panels so I didn’t damage them.
