Starrett 946 finished wood case for 12” electronic calipers is an appealing yet protective wood case. The interior is charcoal-colored foam, fitted to provide maximum protection for the tool inside.

This is a pretty nice case. It holds my 12" digital caliper, although I have to open the jaws a bit so the display will sit in the picket. Caliper is help securely in place. Latches are flimsy and bend easily. They hold the case shut, but don't take much to deform. Disappointing that one of the hinges is missing a screw. There was no evidence of any attempt to install it, a manufacturing process deficiency.

Works well but the padding cutouts inside were made for an electronic caliper so some cutting was needed to fit my dial set also the padding isnt glued to the inside of the box so it falls out every time its opened

had to modify the foam insert and glue it down! for $38 they should just fit!

I had to modify the foam insert in order to fit my Starrett 120B-12 calipers, But the box is real wood and it holds the calipers snug and well protected. Also took longer than is normal to ship, by Amazon's normal standards.

Wanted to keep my 12" starret digital calipers nice and safe and this case does the trick. Nice wood exterior with foam inside cutout to fit calipers very nicely with a spot for extra battery.
