For 15 years I had a similar stud finder, but someone borrowed it and never returned it. I went hunting for a basic magnetic stud finder because the other one worked so well. I finally found these and bought all three in case I loan it out to one of my sons. These don't require any batteries or even charge up a lithium battery. They work by finding a nailhead under the paint and immediately you will know there is a stud located there. I have used it mainly to find studs to put pictures, photos in frames, or clocks on the walls.

I'm old school, so I've been using these for decades. No batteries needed - just skim it over the wall, and when the magnet clicks into place you've got a stud!

These things are useless unless you have direct contact with metal. Even putting them directly on metal they don't have much magnetism. I have other magnetic stud finders and they all work just fine. I'm doing a project and wanted to leave a few on the wall for reference but there is no way these will stick. I even used a different magnetic stud finder (Stud Buddy) to find the nail and it held itself up and other magnets I have, but putting these in the same spot where those others were at it just fell down.I have no idea how this has such a good rating because mine are going in the trash.

I had one of these years ago and loved it. Lost it. So glad I got these, but the quality of it doesn’t seem as good.

Works as described, and nice to have several as they always seem to get lost. These are very simple to use, and I find them better than the electronic stud finders that always seem to have some trouble with them and they don't see as reliable. With the magnets, it is easy to see where a screw or nail is located.

Easy 2use. My GO-2 instead of a good battery one I have. Ordering more tonight now that I know they're still good quality. They get borrowed & never return home.

Really just wanted one of these stud finders, but this three pack was nearly the same price as just one. Plus, I tend to lose / misplace things like this and never fonding it when I need one. So I figured with three of them I have a better chance of locating one.I actually needed one now as I was making some changes to the wall that I have my television on - having bought a new one. So I needed to locate the general area where some studs might be. This stud finder did work, but I seem to remember the ones I've used in the past being more sensitive. It might just be there are fewer nails/drywall screws today than there were in the past when I last used one. Or maybe the nails today aren't made of the same kind of metal. Anyway, I was eventually able to suss out the location and get stuff securely mounted.Even with the difficulties - I'm happy with my purchase.
