What's the best way to not knock yourself out with nunchucks?Don't play with them. You're a grown adult, not a ninja turtle.Still, I don't listen when people say stuff like that to me, so why should you? The next best way is to get these softy but rigid and rather weighty chucks and whack yourself in the head as much as you like without fear of repercussion... or concussion. They're durable, forgiving, and have a really nice swivel action. They're big, too, and just way more fun than the sad old cord-connected ones I had as a kid.

These nunchaku are very well proportioned and very forgiving- excellent for practicing a number of techniques with little risk of hurting oneself (and that risk is very real with traditional wooden nunchaku in the hands of a beginner). Unfortunately, the lack of mass makes them very bouncy and extra fast, which can make practicing some techniques at full speed a bit challenging given the tendency for the nunchaku to accelerate very quickly and bounce out of the hand. Would I still recommend them to the beginner? Absolutely. However, beginners will likely find themselves wanting to transition to wood sooner than they might otherwise (and more importantly sooner than might be healthy) than if these trainers just had more mass in the central plastic rods that are covered with the safety foam. When I have a bit of time, I may look into whether they might be easily and safely modified to add more mass.

As a kid, my fiancee was really good at nonchucks. Since it has been many, many years....I saw these and thought this would be a great pair to get him back into it without killing himself and breaking things around the house. A really great selection. He loves them. He has been practicing and getting pretty good. However, I have to say the cushion around them is essential for beginners. His only complaint is that the chain seems to be a little longer than the ones he had. I am sure it can be adjusted. I still make him do it in the den or basement...I like my vases and furniture.

Awesome set of chucks, like we chuckers call them (no we don't and no I'm not). Really though, the foam on these is adequate to protect you from hurting yourself with normal practice (unless you wack yourself in the eyes, or the genitals). They also look pretty good as a display piece straight out of the box with the chain on them. The only thing to be aware of is practicing with them will inevitably put scuffs and marks on them which will ruin them as a display piece (the foam will not look like lacquered wood from afar once they're all scuffed up).

These Safe Foam Rubber Training Nunchucks have been a fantastic addition to my combat fitness classes! I wanted to introduce nunchuck training but was concerned about safety, especially with beginners. These foam nunchucks provide the perfect solution. The foam construction makes them incredibly safe. They're soft and lightweight, so even if someone accidentally hits themselves or a partner, it won't cause any serious injuries. This allows my students to focus on learning the techniques and building their coordination without fear of getting hurt.Despite being made of foam, they're surprisingly durable. They've held up well to repeated use in my classes, and they haven't shown any signs of wear and tear. The cord connecting the two sticks is also sturdy and hasn't frayed or broken. The variety of colors and styles is a fun bonus. It allows my students to choose nunchucks that match their personality or style, which adds a bit of excitement to the training.Overall, I'm extremely happy with these Safe Foam Rubber Training Nunchucks. They're safe, durable, and a great way to introduce nunchuck training to beginners. I highly recommend them to any martial arts instructor or fitness enthusiast looking for a safe and effective training tool. Here's what I love about them:Safe: The foam construction prevents injuries during training.Durable: Holds up well to repeated use.Variety of colors and styles: Adds a fun element to training.Great for beginners: Allows for safe and effective learning.Cons:None so far! These nunchucks have been perfect for my classes. If you're looking for a safe and effective way to introduce nunchuck training, these Foam Rubber Training Nunchucks are an excellent choice. So far the kids haven't knocked themselves or each other out with them, but our blowup punching dummy has been smacked repeatedly. They are a fine size for kids, but as adult the handles feel maybe slightly long compared to the connecting cords. I have a bit of trouble getting a positive armpit catch. The cord needed maybe another inch or 1.5 inches based on the 12in handle length. But since they are really for kids, maybe this isnt too huge of a neg. They seem well put together, and feel like they will do the training job that they are designed for.The end plug could maybe be a little more recessed or have more foam covering it, as it creates a bit of a hard contact point on the ends.

The length of the chain on this seems a bit long and I think I'll have to remove 2 x links, however it could be the handles themselves are too long. I know these come in various sizes, but for a child these seems far to big and even for an adult. I'll modify them and see if that makes it any better, else I'll probably not utilize these much
