NOTE: This product as sold contains only the USB charging cable for the Vita system. It will not properly charge the system without the accompanying Vita AC adapter; plugging the USB connector into any other USB port (such as a computer or a USB wall plug) will not suffice, as the system needs the correct AC adapter to actually receive and hold the charge. Make sure you have said AC adapter before you purchase this product.Additionally, this cable is only compatible with the original Vita 1000 model; it will not charge a Vita 2000 (Slim).--After carelessly ruining the original USB charging cable for my Vita 1000, I was on the hunt for a replacement that would last me just as long as the original (over 6 years). I'm of the belief that you get what you pay for; I've seen many listings online that advertise this same product at the alluring price of $6-$8USD, as compared to the rather outrageous listings of upwards of $37USD (One of which was on Sony's own website, nonetheless!) However, many customer reviews of said listings expressed frustration with problems such as the cable not fitting the Vita port correctly, holding a weak and/or inconsistent charge, and even completely ceasing to function after a mere 2-3 months of use.I obviously didn't want to waste $8USD on a product that would soon die on me and thusly send me in search of yet another replacement within only months; however, I was just as resistant to the idea of paying nearly $40USD for an official one that would actually last. That's almost as much money one would spend on an actual game for the console!Thankfully, I found this listing from Games America at about $19; my order ended up rounding out to a total of $25USD after shipping + tax, but that's par for the course for online shopping, and in the end, it's certainly a lot better than the $40+ listings I was seeing everywhere else. Now, onto the quality of the cable itself – it works perfectly. It's a bit of a tight fit into the charging port at first, but it doesn't take more than a few seconds to plug it all the way in; you just have to be a bit firm. It's kind of like opening a new bottle of ketchup – it's only tough to open at first because it's never been opened before. As you can see in the images provided, the cable holds a charge perfectly well (as underlined in red in the first picture), and the official PlayStation logo is debossed onto the connector, just like the original Sony cable that came with the system when I first bought it. As far as I can tell, this is indeed an official Sony Vita charging cable; as such, it's safe to say that this is going to last me just as long of a time as my old cable (provided I don't leave this one on the floor to get mowed down by my desk chair... 🤦♀️ lesson learned).TL;DR: As far as I can tell, this is an official Playstation Vita 1000 USB charging cable straight from Sony, which carries the necessary quality and life expectancy of a charging cable that I was looking for. The fit of the connector into the charging port is a bit tight at first, but a little gently firm wriggling into the port is all you need – it will fit much more comfortably after the initial connection. Make sure you have the correct AC adapter for your Vita when you pick up this product, because plugging the USB connector into any other USB port won't be strong enough to charge the system itself. This cable is designed to fit the Vita 1000 model; it will not fit with any other model, so if you need a cable for your Vita Slim, you'll need to find one for a Slim.Overall, 100% satisfied with the quality of the product, fast shipping (ordered January 7th; was given a delivery estimate for the 13th - 17th; arrived on the 10th), and excellent price. It's still a pretty big chunk of change to spend on a charging cable, but it's worth every penny if you want one that will last you years instead of months.Thank you again to Games America for the excellent service! Now I can finally go scratch that relentless Persona itch that's been bugging me for so long, haha. Take care, and once again, thank you! 💜🥰✨

Received this cable in unofficial packaging but it does have the Sony logo so it is official. Works just like it should. Be warned it COMES ONLY WITH THE CABLE NO AC ADAPTER. Good for a replacement or duplicate item. I have no idea whether it was intentional or not but my package came with a bonus item and for that I am very grateful even if it was potentially an order mistake. Definitely would recommend this seller. Official Sony product for a low price with a bonus item that is always a plus in my book

The information for this item would indicate that it is a legitimate Sony PS Vita cable, but it is a relatively expensive knockoff of poor quality. I purchased the cable wanting to resolve cable problems I had with another brand of replacement cable that gave me problems, also purchased through Amazon. I was hoping to buy an official cable, but ended up with another cheap cable that performs poorly that I paid too much for. The main problem is that the touch screen doesn't work when the cable is plugged in. It is not a problem with the PS Vita, but it is a problem with the cable. I verified again by borrowing an original cable.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do. And it work as good as you expect a usb cable to work. It fit in the usb port and into the vita very well.

It was a Sony branded cable in a Sony branded box, in other words the real thing. That's what I had paid for. Thank you.

Be aware that you only get the usb cable. This is great if just your usb cable when on the fritz How ever if you want the plug as well you will have to pay an additional $9.99 bringing the total to $19.98. Which isn't bad But you can probably get then cheaper at wal-mart and or ebgames/gamestop.

I bought a cheaper version of both the usb cable and charger. i have to admit it worked fine for the first couple months but then the problems started. Rule of thumb " you get exactly what you pay for"The cheap version connector messed up my ps vita charging port, I literally had to put pressure and force it in. it took about an hour to bring it back to life ( with a charge of just 5% ) every time and at the end it just gave up, it would not charge the vita with either with the brick charger, the ps3 or a regular phone usb wall charger. One day the connector went lose and I suffered 2 weeks without my vita. DON'T BUY CHEAP REPRODUCTIONS, NOT WORTH IT !This product is amazing. it works more that fine with my iPhone and droid wall charger and it brought my vita back to life in less than 5 minutes! I know " its just a cable" but trust me, this is the one cable that is gonna last you for a long while !! Once again, nothing beats the original ! I only ordered one, because i wanted to test it out and it works great. now I am going to get 3 more for my car, game center and one for my wife... yup I'm a lucky man.In conclusion, this is a really good product for a modest price. Sony is starting to take more ownership on their product's accessories, like the vita charger and memory card. yes it is a lil expensive and for some people may seem inconvenient, but in the end, we have to admit that it's much better. I am an apple fan, so this change works just fine with me.

I bought the cheaper version cable for about $6 and it lasted about 3 days when it literally fell apart in my hand. Also, the cheap version took longer to recharge both my Vita and the portable charger. The one I'm reviewing is the original Sony brand, in the Sony box. I've heard of people getting knock offs, so I suggest you buy it from "Amazon" and not fullfilled or third party. Directly sold and shipped by Amazon.Nothing much to say, the cable is perfect for my needs. I needed one to carry around for when using the portable Sony charger and it works. It measures 3.30" and it exactly as the one included with the PS Vita. Good luck.

For $5 this is a great deal and it works fine. But it's not an actual Sony-manufactured cable...I compared it to two actual Sony cables I already have and this one lacks the PS logo and was shipped in a mailing envelope sans any packaging. I already have one Sony cable used for regular charging, one I keep in my SUV for charging and this one I bought for PS3 linking. The Sony cable retails for $15.
