This is a great option if you, like so many others, have come to love the taste of sparkling water, seltzer, etc. I especially appreciate that this is an option not from other companies that I choose not to support. It was easy to set up and takes up relatively little counter space while seeming solidly constructed. Hopefully it lasts for a long time, so far we have been very pleased.

I love soda water and saw machines for making your own soda water for quite few years. My reservation was that it will be a hassle, and I can just go to the supermarket and get the large 2-liter bottles.A friend of mine removed my reservation at a dinner at their place a month ago. I noticed that they kept offering us glass after glass of soda water using a bit weird bottle. When I asked it turned out to be they use a soda machine for over two years, big brand name, and they are very pleased and happy with it. I saw it and realized that the simple design will hold for a long time. Not much can go wrong with the mechanism. This soda machine is very similar, except that instead of pumping again and again, you pump until you hear the buzz. Of course, you can repeat if you like your water more carbonated.I tested it with one of their gas canisters (market leader) and it worked flawlessly. The unit comes with a gas canister which has the applicable ISO number engraved on it, allowing you to do an easy exchange, if they accept off-label canisters. If not and you need to purchase a new brand name canister (two is better, easier to exchange and you encounter no interruptions), the cost might bump it higher than other similar offerings.

I got this seltzer machine to make sparkling water but was disappointed when it arrived and there was no co2 cannister included. That us kind of pointless and you'd be better buying a full kit for about the same price as this unit and be able to use it when it arrives. I most likely will never buy one and not be able to use this machine to let you know how it works.

First of all, I found the product to work fine once I tracked down some filled canisters. But I agree with some other commenters, once you add in the price of filling the provided canisters (if you can do so in your area) or buying your own, you're better off getting a well-known brand that you can trust. If you find this one at a great discount, however, it does the job of carbonating your water. That part is quite nice.

This is not as good a deal as other carbonators. At this price point, other carbonation machines come with BOTH a FILLED CO2 canister AND flavoring drop samples. I excitedly unpacked my box, eager to try this, only to find the included CO2 canister came empty. Yes, the product description does say that, but the photo makes you think it comes complete with a canister. And despite it telling me to google for a local place to get it filled, by the time I fought traffic to drive the number of miles I'd have to in order to get an empty cylinder refilled, it was just cheaper to spend the $35 on Amazon to get one shipped. By the time you add in that cost, this is no longer cheaper than the name brand that includes BOTH a filled cylinder and more bottles. I did find someplace that would swap out an exhausted bottle for a filled one, but they would NOT take this empty canister, and only accepted commercially filled ones. So the empty canister is pretty useless.Additionally, despite the fact it comes with 2 bottles, the product page doesn't tell you what other bottles, if any, this machine is compatible with. Or if smaller carbonation. And these plastic type bottles do not hold carbonation for very long. bottles are available.I also found you need to run 2-3 carbonation cycles to get actually fizzy water. Running only one cycle leaves you with fairly flat water. All of that being said, I do have some hints if you have purchased this machine. First of all, you only need a little bit of flavor. I over-flavored my first batch by using the recommended squeeze per ounce recommendation. I will have to mix that with a new bottle to get the flavor right. A little goes a long way with this fizzy water. My second batch was more successful. I used a single pack of those "flavor to go" packets they sell at the dollar store, and still could have used a little less. My next trial will be with coffee type syrups, starting with a little less than half of the recommended amount. The powders took a little longer to dissolve, but did after a few minutes. You do NOT need to buy the expensive syrups; those little powder packets and water flavoring drops work just fine so long as you use less than they recommend.I'd also suggest you throw your filled water bottle into the freezer for about 20 minutes, so you are starting with chilled water. It seemed to carbonate better when chilled, and was definitely nicer to drink right away. And if you are an adult and you add too much flavor to your water, tossing a shot of a clear adult beverage into the bottle will help with that, balancing out the flavor a little bit. This is not a bad little machine. It is just not a good value when compared to other machines that either cost less and/or come with the actual CO2 you need for this thing to work. For this price, it should come with both large and small bottles, and certainly more than just 2. And leave out the cylinder if it's not going to come filled. We all want to play with our new toys the minute we get them, rather than having to go out and shop for additional stuff we need to get them to work.EDIT: This machine quit working om its SECOND DAY. I got all of TWO bottles of carbonated water out of a FULL Cylinder. Tried removing and reinserting my mostly full cartridge. Machine did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Do NOT waste uyour money on something that quits working basically 48 hours after set up. Total waste of $.
