Purchased a new electric Sno Joe shovel. Box arrived damaged with much of the box torn up around the handle which was not totally packed inside and was poking out. The electric wire inside the handle was severely bent over. This may be normal, however I prefer not to take chances it was compromised. Machine was scuffed up, packing material obviously had not been as new. I suspect this is a used item, opened, examined and repacked and returned. It may have been okay, however when purchasing a new machine at full price I expect to receive such. Returned for a refund.I own a large electric Sno Joe for the driveway and it is a lifesaver. I'm a petite, nearly 70 years young lady. I like to shovel for the exercise but when we have 6" + snow, I am glad to have the electric Sno Joe. It's efficient, goes through maximum 10" light snow, no problem. It will tackle heavy wet snow, but you must take time and not force it. Anything that is heavy, wet and over 8", I break out the old gas snow thrower.Since our garage is often blocked by drifts, I can move the electric Sno Joe to the foyer before a big storm moves in. No oil, gas to worry about. I have a large drip pan to set the Sno Joe in if I bring it back into the foyer. Was looking forward to using this smaller electric Sno Joe shovel for tighter areas, and the back patio which is closed off in winter.Gave average rating to the machine as am returning it. Unfortunately this is not an accurate assessment of a new machine.Ordered another electric Sno Joe shovel (which suddenly appears to be in stock) and is less expensive. It doesn't have the LED light but that's not a necessity for me. Hopefully I will receive a new machine this time.

We are retired seniors and lifting snow is very hard for us to do. The electric snow shovel is excellent, and allows us to remove the snow from our sidewalk with ease and never have to do any lifting. A very excellent tool for any senior.

This worked well.. Makes quick work of snow. That said, snow with an icey cap to it, it gets tough to cut through. So this is best used on fresh snow before it has a chance to slightly melt, then re-freeze. Then with very wet snow, this works but you end up pushing the snow as it gets a little thick to feed into the blades. I don’t really see that as a fault of the tool maybe.. It is a light duty tool and its setup to not have the blades make direct contact with the surface where it may break the blade or scratch up your surface. I need to look closer at the item and see if any adjustments can be made. But at no time did the motor lag when chewing up regular fluffy snow. It did crack through the ice cap on top of the snow but you really need to shove it to get it to bite in. I was being careful since it is plastic and plastic blades and combined with cold, i didn't want to shatter the plastic blades. Although the blades look to be made of thick material and probably tougher than i think. But all in all a great item. Id suggest that while its snowing, go outside from time to time and keeping up with it, so it doesn't pile up too high. While operating this thing, it felt more like i was vacuuming my carpet, which was nice and easy on your back versus traditional shoveling. If the snow is lite enough, using a leaf blower too, can help. Especially on steps and depending on how wide they are (typical 4’ width). This tool can be awkward on steps which is where i opted for a leaf blower. But i love this and cant wait for the next snow to come

Is good for my purpose, have big snowblower for the hard parts and this works fine to get off my front and rear deck, I needed something that would throw over the railing so I didn’t have to lift and throw the snow over, works good and it’s light

Live in CO. He had a really hot summer and the first snow didn't fall until Dec 31st. The late snowfall usually means it'll be a lot more snow in the late winter/spring. That's what happened. Pretty heavy snow and a lot of it.First time I used this I was impressed. It grabbed snow as deep as 6 inches and threw it 15 to 20 feet. It works very well.Pros:Ease of use, the 2 handle design works well. I have carpal tunnel in my left wrist, and adjusting the handle to a stable/comfortable angle was awesome. It relieved the strain and the 2 handles also helped relieve back pressure/strain.Power. You push this along at an angle towards you so that it is slanting upwards towards you. I was able to push this thing through pretty thick heavy snow and even into some ice chunks and it picked everything up that was loose and threw it. It also broke up some of the ice that had started to form.Cons:The knob on the lower handle broke the first time I used this. Again, I have carpal tunnel and had to adjust the handle a few time to find the right angle & height for me. On one of my adjustments the knowb just fell apart. The plastic is brittle and it just disintegrated on me. I was wearing heavy gloves and was still able to use/tighten it but I foresee a time where I will have to break out a pair of pliers to loosen/tighten the screw.Snow only blows in one direction > straight away from you (ignoring wind conditions). This is more of a wish than a con, but it would be nice if there was rudder/louver system that could be used to direct the flow even a little. It can be hard to strategically get the angles needed to remove the snow without it A) blowing back on something you just cleared B) blowing against a car or home C) blowing into an area that you will need to clear and knowing it will be that much harder to clear it now.No speed adjust. There were times when I only wanted to blow the snow a few feet instead of 15 feet to prevent it from going onto or against something.Overall, for the price this is an OK product. Handle knob needs some work for sure and I might have spent a little more on a product that had a louver and speed adjustment.

To use it properly, think of it more as a vacuum cleaner than a shovel. That's how I use it.Works well in wet or dry powder snow. Powder snow is easier.Just requires you to push it, no more shoveling. You'll need a LONG, waterproof extension chord, and a thick winter coat with a hood or at very least a hat and gloves while using this. Since when the machine blows the show out, a lot of times it can blow back at you.For some reason they design of the additional bottom handle has an sharp edges which can be annoying when using barehanded, so recommended you wrap some cloth on that or wear thick gloves while using it, as often the snow will blow back on your hands too.Sounds like a loud vaccum cleaner when used but its to be expected that this wouldn't be a quiet device. Made shoveling snow MUCH easier and worth the roughly $150 I spent on it after tax. Worked so well I used it on two driveways in one day in powder snow and though it was faster and I was not nearly as exhausted afterwards.

I’m very impressed with this shovel. I purchased it to help keep a large deck clear and it has really surpassed my expectations . I’ve used it on wee heavy snow up to probably 4 inches and light snow up at least 8 inches and it chewed through it all effortlessly. It’s light and easy to manoeuvre. There is a double safety built onto the trigger mechanism - you need to push both the trigger and a safety button concurrent to operate the auger. The show is projected very high and far (for its size) - easily 25-30 feet.Cons? You can’t control the pitch or angle the snow is thrown so cleaning stairs for example - you are throwing the snow to the side which might be I to your driveway or neighbor’s property. And because the snow is projected so high onto the air it may be blown back if the snow is light and the wind is in your face. But for the price you can’t expect perfection.Bottom line this thing is light, powerful and easy to use. It’s not a snowblower substitute but for walks, decks, even smaller driveways this thing will do the job.

I bought my Snow Joe in 2015. I live in Northern British Columbia and have used it at least a dozen times each winter and even in the heaviest of snowfalls. It does exactly as advertised and the first time you push it into a deep snowfall you will not believe how powerful it is. It only throws the snow straight ahead which makes it a bit of a challenge at first but easy after you use it a couple times.I broke mine last night trying to aggressively push it through a new snowfall with big chunks of ice underneath that formed during a slushy spell followed by extreme cold. The plastic piece on the bottom broke but I was giving it everything I had so not surprised when it finally gave in.I am still giving this tool five stars. It has served me well and I have pushed it way beyond its limits many times before I finally pushed it too far. I am ordering a new one today but I am going with the cordless version to get rid of the cumbersome cord. The cordless version is twice the price but knowing what I do about the product now I am sure I can make my next one last much longer and the freedom of cordless is well worth it.
