Received as promised few weeks ago.. It did not snow for few weeks until weekend before last about 6 inches. Worked like a charm. Shoveling was so much easier and I’m in my 70s so this seems great for everyone. Manufacturer also has 1 year warranty so feel good re not using again until next year. Hope it lasts because this is great. Think this could also save lives because of less stress on our heart. Highly recommend.

I just got my Snowjoe shovel and although I haven’t had the opportunity to use it, I’m sharing some facts/features about it that may be helpful if you’re considering a purchase. Assembly: The SJ comes in a thin box in 3 parts. A plus is the shovel is light. The shovel blade attaches to a middle pole which has the leverage handle, and that pole attaches to the pole with the top handle. Attachments can be a bit tricky. The middle pole has a silver button on it that you must push in for the pole to go into the shovel blade. But the middle pole also has a channel in it at the bottom that must align with a raised edge deep in the receiving hole in the shovel blade (all black plastic so a bit difficult to notice). I didn’t realize that at first and couldn’t figure out why the middle pole wouldn’t go as deep as it needed to. Once I saw the need for the alignment, the middle pole and shovel blade made a tight fit. As for attaching the top pole to the middle pole, they connect via a screw that goes through both poles and has a large, easy to turn nut on the end to tighten by hand. The only trick here is putting the screw through the correct hole. You’ll want to insert the screw through the hole with the square opening as it aligns with a square at the top of the screw. Once assembled, the shovel seems sturdy. 2 more pluses: The leverage handle on the middle pole flexes and they provide a strap so you can strap it to the middle pole for storage. As a result, if you want to hang your SJ for storage, the leverage handle won’t stick out. And the instructions include a 2 year warranty and a 1-800 number to contact customer service. So why didn’t I give the SJ a 5/5 rating? Only because I’m 6’3” and the shovel is a bit short for me. Not too short though—I look forward to using it!

Wirks great for pushibg and throwing. I expected my back and shoulder to take a beating, but no problems during 30 minutes of work. Highly recommended.

I was hesitant about this because the handle is more of a spring and not a solid bar like most. But it actually helps throw the snow further! It easy to pick up and throw the snow while not having to bend over, I cleared an additional 2ft of snow on each side of my drive way in about 20 minutes and I wasn't even sweating lifting the wet heavy slush. Usually that amount of snow would have taken an hour and at least 2 breaks while leaving me sore after but this was actually easy and kind of enjoyable! Sturdy and well made! Also came way earlier than it was projected! Wins all around!

This shovel, with the metal edge, clears the snow down to the concrete of my driveway. But, if you are working on a gravel pathway, it is not so good as the metal edge, while good on concrete, tends to pick up the gravel or get stuck on gravel that is embedded in the ground. On concrete and asphalt, it is great. The extra handle does make it easier to lift heavy snow and toss it a pretty good distance. It's a pretty light shovel and that helps with being able to toss the snow a greater distance. It seems to be pretty durable and a pretty good value. The metal edge, in my opinion, makes it a preferable option to my plastic edge shovels.

Recently I bought a electric blower which was garbage, (returned it after the first use). I also purchased this shovel. However I didn't get a chance to utilize it during the first snow storm because I used the snow blower. I was so frustrated I said screw it didn't bother assembling this at the time.We just had 12" of snow, which presented the perfect opportunity to put this shovel to work.(Assembly is literally snapping the two handles together).Exacerbating an already painful and damaged lower back was a major concern for me, since I had similar experiences in the past.This was not the case, the extra handle allowed for a different level of dexterity when I was shoveling. I did not feel the same pain or fatigue utilizing the shovel. I completed the task in less time than I would have utilizing a traditional snow shovel. While I was shoveling I switched to my other shovel to see what was the difference, and immediately felt the pain and discomfort. Personally I think it's having the additional handle almost at the same level as the main handle of the shovel thus reducing the need to bend as much makes the difference. I can't speak for others, and can only convey my personal experience with this product. The back issues, and subsequent downtime we're non-existent. I would recommend this product especially if you have ongoing back, or sciatica issues.

This shovel is nice and light. The second handle flows with you for the most part. Its smaller than my regular shovel but I find that works better in heavier wet snow. I like the guard on the blade to prevent uneven pavement wear. The price was right and it works well.

Great shovel! I was unsure how it would do in heavy snowfalls but it’s great! Gets right down to the pavement and is easy to use - plus it saves your back and the strain of shovelling. Even better that we bought it on sale!
