I used this while replacing the radiator and all rubber hoses on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler. I've had other similar funnel kits before, but most of those just use a T-handle plug to block the funnel so that you can remove it. This one uses a valve at the base of the funnel, and instead of being a slip fit into the radiator adapter, it actually screws on. Overall this makes it more sturdy than the competition, but I did notice that it fills much more slowly and is prone to air locking. Cycling the valve closed and open again can help burp the system so that coolant starts flowing down the funnel again.

Inexpensive kit includes fittings for many different radiators and expansion tank cap designs. If you have never used one of these before, the design allows you to fill and also "burp" the air out of the system. While the coolant heats up, it will expand. The design of this will allow for expansion but not make a mess when you remove the funnel.

They had the right idea but fell short in manufacturing. The numerous pieces to mix and match for different applications are a pain and do not thread together very well and leak if you do not wrench on them to prevent leakage. Same goes for the radiator caps, they are difficult to attach to the radiator and will leak if not done correctly and with a lot of force. If you manage to get that far be careful, because the assembly is not likely to hold up a full funnel of fluid without your support. Don't let go or the fittings will rotate and spill, making you wish you had just poured directly from the jug into the radiator instead.

The funnel has a smart design with a translucent body and a clear scale, so you can easily see how much coolant you're adding. It holds up to 77 oz (2.3L), which is perfect for most cars or trucks. What I love about it is that it helps eliminate air pockets. This kit comes with 5 adapters and 4 caps, 2 straight extension tubes and 2 45° elbows. The funnel has a rubber gasket on the adapter to prevent spills or leaks while you’re changing coolant, it keeps everything clean. I work on a lot of different models of cars and have always made do with regular funnels for refilling coolant but was curious about these specialized kits. The last Jeep I worked on made a mess in shop so I thought it was time to see if there's a better way and this is one of the better tools I've acquired in the last year, hands down. Now, all I need to do is select the right radiator cap adapter, pop it on and fill the funnel. Run the engine and burp out all the air. Previously, I had to baby sit the funnel and constantly add more coolant as the air was cycled out. It's just simply a much better and cleaner way to do it, while also being able to physically see the air being burped out of the system. Get one!

I am very pleased with the quality of this tool and each of the fittings. Fit is very good. The plastic is sturdy and not brittle. The design is well thought out and simplified the usually messy job of burping a cooling system. The valve is mess free. Simply squeeze the top radiator hose slightly when you are about to close the funnel valve and you won’t spill a drop of coolant. The handle is priceless in control of the coolant and I highly recommend this item … this is top shelf to others available like it from well thought out design. The user was totally in mind while this was being designed. It is robust enough to last a very long time and is likely a once in a lifetime tool purchase. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
