Works very well for small block cheese and other things just take it easy when you push through it it’s not industrial commercial grade.

12/2024- Bought in 2023Bought this originally for slicing spam. It works well for the indicated purpose. My wife uses Velveeta for grilled cheese and uses this for that as well.Plastic and metal wires... We have had other such devices which failed after a few uses. This one continues to do it's job after many, many uses. Pretty easy to clean.Works well, good price, light weight but good construction.

I'm one of 'those people' that LOVES Spam. This little, but sturdy device is a Spam-Lovers dream come true. It cuts precise, even pieces quickly and is super easy to clean. I'm sure the inventor is in the Spam Hall of Fame! Highly recommend.

I eat a lot of SPAM but slicing it can be a little tricky because it is very slippery. This slicer works great and the entire block of SPAM fits into it so I only have to press it down once. I take what I want and the rest go neatly back into the SPAM can. It also slices hardboiled eggs perfectly! Thanks for a great tool

This review is for someone like me who may be thinking outside of the box. I want to save you some time and a lot of mess. I have 2 small dogs who eat two different brands of hydrolyzed protein canned prescription foods. The food is difficult to get out of the can and even worse to break up. It kills my hands to do it every meal time, especially on the next night after the second halves of the cans have resided in the fridge for 24 hours. I got a brilliant idea to see if someone had invented a dog food cutter-upper and I found this. I thought that if I could somehow figure out how to get the loaf of food out of the can in one piece that I could use this slicer to slice and dice it. Like I would if I ate Spam. Well, for starters.....after a year and more of feeding them these foods I don't know why I thought I was all of a sudden going to be able to get the food out in one piece. It's not like the old cranberry sauce cans that you could cut off the bottom/top and push the contents out. You can't. That would be way too simple. So I put a paper plate on the counter with the slicer sitting expectantly on it. I tried loosening the food all around the inside of the can with a knife, and then used a serving fork down the middle to yank it out. Nope. But I did get it in two pieces so I was excited to give the slicer a whirl. Sliced right through it. I picked up the food to turn it around for the next slice. Sliced right through it. I was full of joy!!!! One more turn for the dice and the food went everywhere. Everywhere except the paper plate under the slicer, that is. I mean everywhere. So. I'm giving this incredible little slicer a full 5 stars and great review because I think it would easily do it's job with Spam or something similar. Plus it was easy to separate the two parts and thoroughly clean it by hand. But not for dog food. Oh no. Not for dog food. I'll put it away until some time that I boil an ostrich egg ;)

For basic slicing of SPAM, this works admirably. For the moderate misuse I put it to -- _cubing_ SPAM to go in macaroni-and-cheese -- it was less useful, but not through any fault of the slicer. the first two cuts worked without a problem, but when I tried to pick up the 'sticks' and turn them for the third cut, the softness of the SPAM and the large number of pieces made it difficult to hold together to turn. It still worked, but I judge it less convenient than slicing with a knife for cubing. For slicing to fry or just as lunchmeat, it works excellently, and I look forward to using it the next time I make fried cornmeal mush and SPAM (yes, it's a bodge of a breakfast, but my mother made it when I was a kid, and it's been a comfort food).
