Die baugleiche alte Feder für den Handstart ist nach 45 Jahren gebrochen. Das Neuteil funktioniert und passt. Allerdings vorsicht beim Einbau. Handschuhe und Schutzbrille tragen, denn die Feder könnte beim Einbau springen. Bin mit dem Produkt zufrieden.

the recoil tangled up in the case right after i put it in. i had to bend it back to its coil shape. not very impressed by this.

Will not stay in. Slide up and into recoil starter. Normally, Sierra parts are outstanding but frustrated with this one.

Used for a 1958 Evinride Fastwin 18hp. The spring comes wound secured with two zip ties and a metal band that runs around the spring. It's coiled a bit too wide to directly drop into the casing. Grip the spring well directly below the interior loop and cut off the ties and remove the metal security ring. Then, you can pull to outer ring end to tighten the spring up a bit and wind it back a little over itself. I had no trouble doing this but be warned the spring is under a lot of tension and it can be tragic scene if you allow it to unwind on you.
