Low Shank Gathering Presser Foot Details
The Gathering Foot can be used for lightly gathering fabric as well as attaching the gathered edge to a flat (ungathered) fabric. Fabric layers are placed under the foot and collected automatically. You can make ruffles for garments, pillows, or other home décor items. Looking closely at your Gathering Foot, you will see a slot on the bottom. When using this slot, you can gather the bottom layer of fabric while attaching it to a flat top layer, like a waistline. Cut your sewing time in half on decorative applications such as mock smocking or making puffing for heirloom creations. To get the best results, use light to medium-weight fabrics.

This foot works well, but it would have been nice to have some instructions. Not everyone knows howto use all the different sewing machine feet. The instructions would not have to be extensive, but something would be nice.
