I bought this to use when making smaller barn quilts. I love it. It's sturdy and has a very nice non-slip feature on the bottom.

Have the 24 inch also, now with 12 inch can do things that the larger one was too long for. Great product, easy to read markings.

* it's metal, so when using a blade alongside, it goes smoothly (as opposed to something plastic)* one side is raised, so it protects the hand whilst using said blade alongside* the numbers are imperial (I've bought so many others "made in C..." lately that the inch is broken up into 10ths. which is useless. This one is correct, and the inch is broken up imperial. Sometimes instructions are given in imperial measurements. I need a ruler to be correct.* the bottom has a little extra added piece to make it non-slip - again, I like not having blade slippagethis was exactly what I was looking for in a ruler for my studio.

I build scale scratch models of cars, houses, ships, you name it. The marked side measures with ease and accuracy, and the opposing side is flat so it will handle knife cuts without losing metal shavings. Plus there is a rubber foot on the bottom so it doesn't slide while cutting. I'd be lost without it.

I'm an amateur/hobbyist artist and I've spent a lot more money on other supplies. This ten dollar ruler is probably the most valuable item in my entire toolkit. Doesn't budge, straight as an arrow, and super nice to use as a straightedge for cutting. Does not ding or knick your hobby knife at all. This little guy is saving me so much time and stress and really improving my workflow.

I. EFFING. LOVE. THIS. RULER.This is my go-to when I'm cutting paper and board. I'm often working on projects or prepping materials to teach at odd hours when I'm not at my most alert, and I have yet to slip or injure myself using this ruler. It's experienced regular use and thrown around a bit over several years, and it is still in excellent condition. The marks and numbers are still like-new and the non-slip backing has not degraded. the design works very well where the backing keeps the ruler in place and the angled edge is right up against the paper for accuracy.I have a lot of metal and plastic rulers for drafting and cutting, and this one is by far the one I use the most.
