Bought these for holding up string lights, seem ok a little flimsy and the fit for each pole was not matched up correctly I even used a mallet but I guess it will do I’ll update if they don’t last

I got one pole, but that worked well for securing a triangle sun sail. It's a solid pole, and the weight alone tells you how much metal was used. It's very hefty, but comes in pieces, which is nice for storing it when not in use. It has a solid base so you can secure it, and once assembled, is very solid and has a nice black look. If you need a pole to secure the corner of a tarp or sun shade, this is a nice, tall choice.

I cannot recommend these poles, as they completely buckled when we had moderate winds with some high speed gusts. One of them snapped and broken in half.Very expensive for not very strong poles.

These poles are very nice. Heavy duty 9 ft poles won't flex or get damaged. They are easy to install (expansion bolts are provided) and there are three points of attachment at the top. I have string lights plus two sails attached.

We live in the southwest, and it gets hot. Really hot. Especially in the late afternoon, and our deck faces west. After many years of just dealing with it (or staying inside on hot days), we decided to try out a sun sail. We got a pretty large one (18' on a side) to create as much shade as possible. I was worried about attaching something this big to the balusters of the deck, so we ordered these sail poles. We live in a very windy area at the foothills of a mountain range so I knew a sail as big as this one was going to need something very strong. Upon inspecting these poles, I quickly doubted their ability to be secure enough. To be fair, with our winds I knew it was going to take something substantial. I wasn't overly impressed with the gauge of steel used with these and figured they'd possibly bend in a really high wind. So, I augmented the installation with 2" thick wood backing under the deck, ran bolts all the way through (rather than the compression bolts that come with it) and added a brace up higher on the railing. I'm really glad I did that, because I can tell already that these would have bent without the extra support. But so far so good! We've been through some pretty good winds, and while I have a slight bend within the parameter of the upper bracket, they're pretty darn solid now. Admittedly, an 18' sail is quite big, so unless these were 1/4" steel, I probably would have had to bolster them regardless. I also like the 3 different attachment points since one of our poles was on a sunken part of the deck, and the other was two steps up. Having those different attachment positions helped keep the sail level.

This is a strong shade pole. It comes with concrete anchors and are easy to install. It is all black and sleek and looks great! The poles have to be banged together to connect but that ensures they are a strong fit, it’s a decent price for what you get. It can be sued for a shade tarp or I use it as I needed a strong pole to install a parking light in my driveway. It works great for both. I would definitely recommend this!

I needed a lamp pole with some stops at the top to hold my new, large outdoor solar street light. Since it was going to go in close to the patio where I like to string up my shady sail tarp, this pole looked like it would serve dual purposes. Plus its square plate at the base would allow me to anchor the pole firmly. I didn't want the pole to be a permanent fixture so I buried it about two feet in the ground, heaping a bag of pea gravel into the hole and adding the dirt back in. The square plate fixed the pole in place, the eye holes at the top gave me a cleat I could mount the outdoor street light onto and will serve to tie off a corner of my tarp. The whole apparatus looks impressive and professional. This is 9' of sturdy outdoor equipment. The best purchase for the purpose I could possibly have made.

I like that this pole is sturdy and that it comes in several pieces, which is nice for storage if I want to take it down for the winter. It has a nice base for attachment. The metal seems nice because I have had the 4 pieces stored together and they have not scratched each other up. There is a plastic cap on the top part to keep birds or bees from trying to make nests in the pole. I also like the natural looking brown color of the pole.
