I have been rehabilitating older Briggs and Stratton engines and these diaphragms are an essential carburetor part that over time become very stiff. These diaphragms are what pulls fuel from the fuel tank up into the plenum and into the engine. If you are using E87 fuel, the alcohol over time dries out the diaphragm making it hard or impossible to start. If at all possible, use Non-Ethanol fuel.This is a new supplier to me, but I have confidence that this product will work as well as a factory part.

I have an old 1986 craftsman tiller with a 5.5 hrs B&S it’s been very hard to start for the passed 10 years. This looked like an easy and cheap thing to try. I’d heard that the diagram is what pimps the gas so it was worth a try. It took less than 20 minutes to do this without taking the carb off. I just removed the muffler to get to the bolts. Took the old diagram off put the new one on. Wow started on the secound pull. I have 4 spares for next time. I do recommend this. Cost is right and easy to install. Saved me $800 on a new tiller.

This fuel pump gasket works but it is much thinner material than the original. Will probably only last one season , maybe. But it's easy to change so I'm happy. Mower starts on first pull and runs smooth now.
