I chose this strobe light to use at the top of my home to indicate that it's my house with the alarm going off. I have a GE simon XT with a supplemental 1 amp power supply. It's low current draw is perfect for this application and is easy to install and is waterproof.

Item met my expectations. It is sturdy and has low power consumption, I understood that this product requires an external power source.

This is a good effort as a replacement for a xenon strobe, and would probably work fairly well at night, but you really can't see it working in sunlight, whereas a xenon strobe is very visible even in the brightest sun.For my project where the flash needs to be visible in sunlight, it just wasn't bright enough.
