The magnet was not glued properly and detached before the 1st dive!

Got 3 and they work perfectly. The only issue is that one of them had a magnet come out of the side that connects to the hose the first time I used them. I glued it back in and haven't had any more trouble.

This little device works great. I have an oceanic octo with magnet, the same would continuously detach from BC even if you look at it wrong the magnet was very weak. This as a very strong connection never have to worry about it coming undone even in Rex if you rub up against an object. I've been a dive instructor for 25 years and this is a great little product highly recommended

Assuming you never use the octo the magnet is great. Otherwise it's too strong. It's still a very clean setup. Probably doesn't work well with non braided lines.I like the plastic clips. Keeps my blue anodized fringe from scratching. And if the clip breaks while someone tries grabbing for the octo in an emergency, then it did its job. Guessing that's why it's plastic.

Awesome products. Hate the plastic clips and have replaced with stainless steel swivel clips. The magnets themselves work great. We use one polarity on each side to prevent the hoses from attaching to the wrong points when traveling. They keep our gear streamlined and help prevent it from getting caught while diving.

The hose is held in place by a plastic ring on a plastic thread. The ring broke after 2 days of diving making the item useless.

Loving this Magnetic Reg/Octo Hose Holder Clip. I received this Magnetic Reg/Octo Hose Holder Clip in Blue and Yellow the next day after ordering them. I did three dives so far using them. The hose holder fit snugly on my Poseidon Reg/Octo hoses with it not sliding at all, keeping the holder where I wanted it. The clips seem strong and sturdy. The magnet was strong holding the hose to the clip, easy to separate when needed, and kept the reg/octo from dangling. Important Note: When using my compass in my hands with arms fully extended, the magnet seemed to have no affect on it with a separation distance of at least 24 inches. Knowing this limitation, I will still use this Magnetic Clip. If I need to navigate using my compass, I could always unclip the magnet portion and move to the bottom of my BC, or remove and clip on my buddy while I navigate.

just completed my open water course with this - my instructor highly recommended a magnetic octo restraint so i found the cheapest one on prime and the cheapest alternative to compare it to (that's my style). so i must say: super effective way to restrain your octo. magnet is strong - so it keeps it in place - and the method for attaching it to your second stage hose is very effective. i also bought a clip [Scuba Choice Scuba Diving Double Hose Holder...] to compare the two (since it was only 6 dollars) and i must say that the clip was a PITA to get the hose back into (under water or otherwise) really hurt your fingers trying to force it in - and once it was in - it some what easily popped out with significant incidental contact (fin/fist/otherwise). for the price difference of about 10 dollars this IMO is a way more effective method of securing your octo. I absolutely will recommend this to all my friends getting into scuba- for 15ish dollars you cant go wrong.

Pros:The build quality on the one I got was good. It has been used for 60 dives and is still holding strongThe magnet is strong enough to keep the Octo/Reg in place in or out of the water.Cons: The magnet is strong (also a plus). It will affect your compass unless you hold it at arm's length. Also, the magnet was so strong that it actually screwed up my dive flashlight's magnetic switch when the flashlight was hanging right next to this.Bottom line: This item does as it claims but the pros and cons of using a magnet vs alternate non-magnetic clip should be considered.Helpful?
