Gorgeous dress. Scarlet Darkness really has an eye for quality. I very much appreciate the old school approach and how well these garments are made. The cotton material is nice and thick but not where it will make you overheat. The gathering in the back is perfect for camouflaging backfat and creating an elegant silhouette.

I bought this to wear for a feature Renaissance event. I love how light weight the dress feels. It will work perfect in this Texas summer heat. As someone that is busty chested the straps are thicker and adjustable for a perfect fit. The front portion of the dress has adjustable string for the chest and bottom portion of the dress which is a plus. The quality is excellent for the price and you can add accessories to the dress to jazz it up more. It is a little bit see-through, which I don’t mind and will need to be steamed before use. It’s true to size. I bought this in size large. I am 5ft 7in and weigh 167lbs. My chest measures 42 inches and 32 inches waist.

This dress is perfect!! The fit is true to size and very flattering. I initially got this for a cosplay idea but this can easily be worn as just a dress. You can cinched up the or let it fall to its full length. The material is lightweight so it can be worn in hot weather without being stifling. The shoulder straps are also adjustable.

This is a very nicely made gothic-style "medieval" type dress! The bodice is what really makes it unique - It has a tie front and the waist has ruching, making it very flattering. The skirt is pleated and along with the bodice, really portray an hourglass shape. The hemline is also very unique - slightly shorter in the front with a tie at the top of the split. The ruffles on the bottom of the skirt are very feminine. This would be a perfect dress for a renaissance fair. It could be worn casually with a pair of sandals or dressed up for more formal events. Overall, I really love this dress!

This dress fits true to size, but the material is thin and nylon-like, which isn’t ideal for the Florida heat—it tends to show sweat easily. It could work well as a beach cover-up, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a night out. The slit on the side is quite high, so keep that in mind if you’re not comfortable showing leg.For the price, it’s not a bad purchase, but it’s definitely more casual than glamorous. Just temper your expectations if you’re looking for something for a big night on the town.
