I have always purchased Salty Captain products but directly from them and have been extremely satisfied. I found an amazing deal for the 1 Gallon of the engine flush but when I received the product I compared it to the 33oz bottle I had. The 1 gallon was very light in color compared to the 33oz bottle and was very watery. The 33oz was a soap like consistency. I will be returning the 1 gallon and will order the 33oz. I highly recommend Salty Captain but do not buy the 1 gallon.

If you've ever owned a boat operated in salt water, you know corrosion is guaranteed. Working on corroded parts is awful and awfully expensive. I run the salty captain flush after every outing on my Yamaha F115 outboard in order to delay or hopefully prevent internal corrosion. I have tried salt away, west marine salt off, and this and they all seem pretty similar. Volume-wise I feel like this goes a bit further than salt away. I am not using the musket... Just a regular detergent mixer and it works fine. If you're on the fence about using something like this, just remember a little up front cost can save you a lot of frustration, a lot of money and perhaps a day or more of boating by keeping all your water jacket passages clear and walls corrosion free.

Running an outboard motor in the saltwater can be corrosive over time, and even with regular freshwater flushing, salt and sand can build up in the waterways of the engine, leading to cooling problems, performance drops, and even engine failure. This full liter of wash should be able to handle 20 or so rinses. While not the Salty Captain brand, I use a screw-in flush device that allows water to flow through with or without the flush fluid, and it makes the process very simple. With my motor running and warmed up to allow the thermostats to open, I run the fluid through, so it reaches all parts of the cooling system. It takes about 3-5 minutes for the liquid in the flush fluid cup to run clear, so I can run this through while cleaning the rest of my boat, maximizing efficiency once I'm off the water. This is inexpensive piece of mind for running an engine in saltwater.

So far it seems to be doing okay you don't really know until you do a water pump or motor work
