Use it as a goat hoof trimmer, mini horse rasp file, pig rasp, pony rasp, and farrier file for other hooved animals. This horse file rasp has a steel blade with coarse teeth on one side, fine teeth on the other side, and medium grit teeth along the edge. The 6 x 1.5 inch (15.2 x 3.8 cm) working surface cuts hard hooves easily without clogging with pad material. I ordered this rasp, because I have an Arabian that hates the farrier and I was hoping this would be easier for me to handle than a regular rasp. It is easier too manage than a full size rasp, but I did not feel a big difference in weight.

I loved how easily I could hold this tool in my hand and smooth out some jagged areas of my horses feet in between farrier visits. I would highly recommend.

Got this to use on my goat hooves. The size and grip is great, but I really have to put in elbow grease to get the amount of pressure needed to grate. It could be sharper, and the blade thinner. I will probably purchase a full size farrier's rasp next time. I would give this 5 stars if it were sharper.

I got this hoof rasp to replace the mini rasp (of a different brand) that I have been using regularly on my miniature donkey for the past 12-15 years. I should have been rewarded with much easier rasping and a quicker hoof-trimming experience with a brand new (presumably sharp) tool, but instead I was working much harder with little to no hoof wall removal. The cutting edges just skated across the surface, no matter how lightly or firmly the rasp was used. After fighting with it for a few minutes, I switched to my old mini rasp and sighed in relief as it easily took off hoof wall despite its decade-plus of use. I tried this Rural365 mini rasp again the next month, thinking maybe my donkey's hooves would be a different hardness and the rasp would work well (although my old worn out rasp functioned just fine, and always does). Once again, the Rural365 rasp skated across the hooves, doing nothing like trimming or smoothing. I switched to my 15 year old rasp and was able to easily trim my donkey's hooves. One more try for the next hoof trim - same experience. This Rural365 mini rasp is worthless. I wish I'd tried it right when I received it, but I had just trimmed hooves and it was another 4-6 weeks before I needed it. Then I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried it again for another two trimming cycles, which put me beyond any chance for a return and refund. Waste of money.

Very sturdy rasp! A bit heavy for me, but it's worth it for the sturdiness.
