Word of advise! READ THE RETURN POLICY VERY CAREFULLY. I messed up and failed to do so. Now I wasted money on nothing. The lid is sloppy construction and does not fit my military canteen cup. Let my stupidity be your benefit. Do NOT purchase anything that has a NO RETURN POLICY!

Did not fit my surplus canteen cups at first, but after grinding the edge of the cup and slightly bending the lip of the lid they now snap together and have a tight fit. If you want a lid to work right our of the package this may not be for you but if your willing to tinker with your cup/lid you will have a great fit. also drill some steam holes. I would buy this again.

Very nice lid and thick with a lid grabber. The weight is pretty good and works well with only rotcho canteen Pots. It doesn't fit very well on an aluminum rotcho canteen pot. Takes a bit of manipulation to sit right on most canteen pots. Needs some vent holes. Just use a small drill to make ventilation holes. And use sand paper to smooth out those holes. Still very well made and Takes some work to fit right on the rothco aluminum canteen pot.

Compre esta tapa para completar mi kit de cantimplora, tazon y estufa de leña, tenia mis dudas que le quedara bien ya que el tazon que tenia era de otra marca y de aluminio, sin embargo le quedo muy bien, pienso que son medidas estandar y de ahi que le quedo bien. se ve de muy buena calidad y ahora ya tengo mi kit completo.

It does fit the anquiao WW2 canteen cup that is available here on Amazon but does not fit inside the canteen pouch... Not a deal breaker but uncomfortable because I have to store the lid in another place of my pack, however for the price I'm not complaining.

The lid is quite nice and well made, but it does not actually fit any of the GI canteen cup with butterfly handles that I have. It sits atop the cup and is useful in keeping heat inside, which was what I needed it for, but the outside lip of the lid does not come down over the out lip of the cup. I tried it on multiple cups from the late 70's and 80's manufacture from different GI manufacturers and had the same result from all. I need to dig out my earlier cup with the older style handle as I wonder if it may work on those. Regardless, it is a nicely made item, but I will try it on the older cup before I try to reshape the edge as I have no plans on returning this item as it is just too handy. If it fit it would definitely have received five stars.UPDATE: I tried this on my 1945 GI issue cup and it is apparently the same size as the modern GI cups, so no fit again. Used pliers and a vise to flatten out the out edge and will try using it in the field shortly. At least it covers the cup!

This fits the "G.I. Type Stainless Steel Canteen Cup" from Rothco just fine. Many have had issues with fitment but not with this one !!!! This lid also has no powder coating or any other type of coating of any type. Just good old stainless steel ( don't know what type though , like 300 series or 400 series ) .

I purchased this canteen cup lid along with the matching Rothco Canteen Cup. Both are good quality stainless steel, and the lid fit perfectly. I read plenty of negative comments about this lid, most of which referred to the fact that it doesn't fit the GI issue canteen cup. But I read the description and Q&A section and saw that it is not meant to fit that cup.Very happy with this purchase, and I might buy another set.

Cup lid fits perfectly and keeps anything from falling into my canteen cup as I'm heating up things in it.The thing I liked most about this is that it's got a lip to it that is just slightly smaller than my USGI canteen cup. So when you put the lid on, it snaps into place and cannot fall off if you happen to jostle the canteen cup or even topple it off of whatever stand you have it on (Provided it's less than a foot over the fire).
