Everything went together fine. There seemed to be an extra unidentified gasket...Kits should include new Bell Housing. Cross threads easily, had to special order and very expensive.

This PRV looked the same as what it replaced, which lasted 10 years. This replacement PRV operated OK for about 6 weeks, then blew out the seals flooding water in my garage. I called the city and asked about the water pressure in my immediate area and was informed it recently varied between 100 and 190 psi.This is high and this regulator should be able to take high pressure, but it will not. If your water pressure is above 100 psi this replacement PRV probably won't last. I needed a PRV immediately and ended up at Ferguson where I paid $550 for a completely new regulator that works great, but $550.00 that hurts.

See the two photos. On the overall shot, the screen separates the two o-rings (packings) that separate the high and low pressure (unregulated and regulated) inlet/outlet sides. The white plastic housing had a very defective molding/assembly error that didn't permit the o-ring on the left side of the first photo to seat properly and seal. That lead to a leak from high to low, with the consequence the low pressure side would rise to the high pressure value within half a minute or so. That white housing should never have been accepted by the manufacturer or included in the kit. Got another kit (a real Wilkins one) off of ebay and used it, and it worked flawlessly.Plus, the OEM main seal (for the bell housing) is a fabric with rubber impregnation. I guess that's for long-term flex and wear resistance. The later OEM kit also had a main seal of that construction. But this kit was simply rubber, with no fabric underlayment. I'm guessing those folks who experienced early failures with this kit had this component prematurely wear out.I returned this kit for a full refund, so at least Amazon makes that easy.

I ordered two kits and had to replace/return both. The ridge where the upper o-ring goes had a ridge on both orders that prevent the o-ring from being seated in the groove. It is a manufacturer error. I won’t be ordering a third one. BTW, made in China.
