Having a waterproof ethernet or RJ45 connector can be helpful when doing various outdoor tasks which require networking, and so far this cable has been a good solution. The quality seems good enough, and the seal seems watertight to me. So far so good, I'm happy with it

I love this RJ45/Ethernet outdoor housing!It is extremely well made and nearly indestructible based on the quality of the materials and design of the housing. EVERYTHING about this connector screams premium. In essence, the weakest part of your cabling build will always be the cable, even shielded/outdoor cabling. Once wired up and clicked (butter smooth mechanism and lock, by the way) into place the connector becomes impossible to remove unless you depress the release lever. The mechanism that holds both sections together is metal and cast/machined perfectly within very close tolerances. It's wonderful to use and effortless to connect and disconnect.The biggest challenge is getting your Ethernet plug installed/crimped/locked in. You can't use any kind of booted cable or any strain relief - it HAS to be a standalone RJ45 jack type of patch cable (or un-terminated cable, if that's the way you are going). You can re-use an existing patch cable, but you'll need to remove one end to thread it through the foam ring that crimps down gently on the cable when you thread on the contracting fastener. The inner plastic part of the housing will permanently depress the RJ45 lock tab so that the metal connector becomes the new locking mechanism for the port. The female portion of the connector can be connected directly to an already-terminated RJ45 cable.Recommended!

Claiming 25A and up to 300V, I was curious how well this was made and how serious the contacts are -Its very well built and while I would always avoid connecting and disconnecting under load, this probably will hold up to significant amperage.It does accept #12 wire in the pin sockets and allows for a significantly sized cable jacket in the back of the plug (only round jacketed cable will seal tightly)The panel mount connector is sturdy and the release latch for the plug is easy to see and easy to operate - even with work gloves on, it's not a problem.The socket comes with a weather tight cap that latches in place to protect the port when not in use and has a short chain to keep it attached to the mounting screws so its always handy.There are four screws supplied for mounting but there are only two holes available in the flange - two of the corners are used for screws from the back that hold the connector together. This isn't ideal for a waterproof connector - it can't provide as tight a seal around the connector as if it had four screw holes in all four corners but it does pull up tight on a panel and the seal provided does seat well - I would worry if there was any sideways tension on the cable - which is always to be avoided but frequently happens - still, it did form a water tight seal.Overall, this is a nice sturdy connectorIt latches into the socket very positively and seals very well.It releases easily once the latch is pressed and the terminals are easy to work with.For the price, its a nice option for an inexpensive but effective IP67 connection.

Assembly and installation was pretty easy. Be aware that while it does come with 4 screws, there are only 2 holes.The locking mechanism doesn't lock as securely as I would like. I don't feel that it's going to fall out, but a good tug will take it out of the connector. I can hear it click when I push it in, but it doesn't lock it.

Used this for my onboard marine battery charger. The metal housing is nice because I know it won’t break as easy as the plastic ones. I was a little unsure about soldering the wires because if it gets too hot then the solder will melt away but so far it’s been ok. The connection seems good and solid.

This 4-pin connector seems to be a well-made and high-quality connector. The plug fits into the socket perfectly and locks into place with the spring-loaded locking tab. To release the plug, the locking tab must be pressed down before the plug is pulled out. The plug and socket both feature geometry that only allows the plug to be inserted one way and prevents the plug from being inserted incorrectly. The socket features a weatherproof gasket behind the mounting plate as well as a weatherproof o-ring inside the connector to keep dust and water out of the pin connections. The plug features a rubber o-ring on the outside of the interior plastic piece as well as a rubber seal inside the cable gland. Together, these keep dust and water out of the plug. Additionally, the socket features a plastic weatherproof plug that fits into the socket when the cord plug is not plugged into the socket. This weatherproof plug also features a short chain that can be secured to the mounting plate when the socket is mounted. This keeps the weatherproof plug from getting lost and keeps it close to the socket so it's more likely to be used when the cord plug is not used. Both the plug and the socket feature solder lugs on the back that should easily fit the appropriately sized wire and should be fairly easy to solder without applying too much heat to the connectors.Overall, this 4-pin plug and socket set seems to be a well-made and high-quality set that should easily hold up against outdoor weather. I'm impressed by the heavy-duty design of this connector, how well the plug and socket fit together, and how well the locking mechanism works to keep the plug secured.

The 4 Pin Connector, Waterproof Electrical Connector, IP67 Power Connector, Aviation Cable Connector for Automotive, Lights, and Other Indoor/Outdoor Wire Connectionsis heavy duty and robust.The male and female ends connect solidly and lock together.The pins are a good size but I have no way to confirm if they can handle the 25A claim.The female socket has a cap that can be placed over it to protect it from dust and water when not in use.The mounting screws are also included.I only wish that the voltage and current rating were listed on the connectors so I don't have to try to find this listing again to know for sure; should be printed on it.All the components on the male side have gaskets and rubber seals, should do well against the weather.At ~$45 at the time of this review with a 10% potential coupon discount it is reasonably priced.

Only waterproof on one side....would require some sort of water proof box for the female side.
