Richtig robuste Schleifhilfe. Elektroden sitzen sicher, ohne rutschen, in der Spannhülse. Ein absolutes muss. Gehört in jede Schweißerkiste.

This is exactly what I needed. Holds tungstun in place and take stress off your hand from cramping while turning tungstun fast enough to file!

The two sides work OK for the sizes of electrode they are designed for, but the tolerances are very tight. I've used similar tools for holding drill bits and files in the past and they could usually hold a much broader variety of sizes than these can. Also, the knurling is very slight so it's difficult to get a tight grip on it. The whole tool is pretty heavy, and although it's easier to grip the electrode when sharpening, it's not easier to twist it in the sharpener and the balance is off a lot. I think it's a lot more useful for smaller electrodes, but it doesn't seem to be worth the effort for longer electrodes. Still, I don't see a lot of other mandrels advertising themselves for this specific purpose.

If you’re familiar with the Starrett version of this they’re nothing alike. This one really big and not high quality. I actually sent mine back because when you tighten it down the tungsten still spins. Spend the extra money and buy the Starrett it’s a far superior product this one is pretty much junk.

These have some heft to them, I am not exactly sure what I expected but these are larger than I imagined. The diameter is kind of excessive ( won't really fit in a 1/2 inch drill) but it wasn't advertised to do so. It certainly does hold tungsten electrodes for sharpening. I'm going to keep them, and they are cool. But I'll probably make something that has a smaller diameter to fit into my drill ( I already have a pin vise for this, but I'd like something that grips better). I TIG weld ( GTAW ) on a daily basis, it's my job for the last 7 years so I frequently touch up my electrodes. I recommend these, but with reservation. Cool, not necessary, but is actually helpful to a degree.
